"Kuya, do you believe that dreams may have significant meaning in real life?"
Putting down the book she's been reading, she asked a question related to the matter that was really bugging her mind since yesterday. The brother immediately paused, thankfully it was red light.
"What the heck are you saying? You've been in that cave of yours lately, for God knows what we're you are doing there. Pace yourself Idiot, it's not healthy for mental and physical health." He said like it's the most ridiculous thing he ever heard from her little sister. They are family that have strong roots in science, it's obvious.
"Geez just answer my question, it's a simple yes or no. Stupid."
He rolled his eyes, starting the car again "If running from a dinosaur, surviving the zombie apocalypse, falling to a pit, I dunno--- a giant Hello Kitty dominating the world and even banging my hot professor from college have an actual meaning in real life, maybe yes."
Well, no wonder. It's indeed ridiculous.
"You really dreamt of banging your professor? What a horndog, Kuya." She snickers and get back on her book. Men will be men.
The shameless brother only shrugs. "It is said that we can only use 60% of our brain." He started, earning interest again. Unfortunately, he always wants to be cool in front of her little sister so that her sister sets her standards high, well… ehem apparently like him.
Cyprus and Ridiculous quite do sound alike, don't they?
"Imagine it's like that movie Inside Out, there's a big storage. Highlights we're only kept because how can you even remember what particularly happened on an exact date from last year, every thought you process each second or exact detail of your life from the moment you learned common sense. Right?"
"Well… yeah? Obviously— but wait. You watch Inside Out?"
"Shut up, It's the best." Cryprus's getting into it. "That's why studies say that what have you been thinking plus the ecosystem that surrounds you have a great effect on your dreams. For a layman's term, it took clips from that remaining percent of your brain that stores every thoughts we process or the things we can't even remember and played It randomly or we can even say unconsciously dig back to it when our consciousness was in depths of black and deep concentration, thus we call sleeping."
Cyprus looked back to her. "It's a theory but I think it's all coincidence and law of attraction but still depends on the person" He got his eyes back to look for a parking place around.
"You know sometimes you're useful Kuya."
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?"
Argen sticks her tongue out and swiftly get out even before Cyprus arms reaches her. She gave her thanks to the seatbelt.
"You little witch. Comeback here!"
But questions still linger in her mind, the topic is interesting in a lot of aspects. Her wonders are still there until she bumped into someone in the front of supermarket. The other seems to be occupied as well,
I mean-- rushing out from the entrance?
Argen was the one to react first and picked up the bottles of different bathroom cleaner and chemicals that fell from the bag, "Uhmmm shocks, I'm sorr---" and to her surprise the person she bumped into is rather not a complete stranger.
"Oh, Miss Leyada." The lady seems to snap out of it too. Her eye squint, as if she's remembering Argen. "Oh! Argen, fancy s-seeing you here." She greeted back, but the lady's face painted perplexity beneath.
Argen choose to dismiss it, it hints that it might be of something completely out of her business "I'll take that as a completement, Miss Leyada." She tries to joke and the lady chuckles back with her sweet giggles.
This said Miss Leyada is a senior in her university they met a couple of times thru a certain Professor which also happened to be the one that ask for assistance later. Miss Leyada is really the sweet and kind of woman, a total campus sweetheart, and it's actually one of the people that really helped her a lot in the Organization— that unfortunately, she was just forced to attend for participation merits.
Argen hands her the bottles and Miss Leyada's eyes grew big as she was devoured again by realization, her hands were fast enough to collect it all put it again in her bag.
They we're both stunned. Okay… she must be really in rush?"
"T-thank you dear…" She was hesitant again for a second, "By the way Argen. D-did Professor Lee happen to also call you for later?"
"…Yep" Even though still daunted, Argen popped with a nod.
"Can you make me a favor? If possible, rely to him that I wouldn't make it later, I-uh happened to f-find a h-house much earlier than I expected and…" She dingles her bag and let a couple of awkward chuckles. "I have to start c-cleaning,"
"Oh… Yeah sure, and congrats on your new home."
"Ah yeah t-tha--"
They both heard Cyprus's annoying voice from a distance again. "Hey, Argen, what th--- Oh… Sonvia. Long time no see." Cyprus momentarily stopped.
And yes, the most shocking thing. Cyprus and this Miss Sonvia Leyada are once "flings". Earth is indeed small.
"Oh… Cy, yeah long time no see." A small smile escape from her lips "Ah, I uhm… I really need to go now. The l-landlord is still waiting for me." Contemplating, Argen thought she saw a meteor of sadness from the lady's eyes before it rushes out and wave last time.
Still wonders.
Cyprus nudges her sister as they both look at the back of the vanishing Sonvia. "Hey idiot, what happened? Did you piss her off?" His eyes are rather squinting.
"What fucking nonsense thing are you spouting?" She raised his browse.
Cyprus shrugs. "That's a look she gave when she's bothered. I don't know."
Argen's lips can't help to let out smirk "What don't tell me you still have feelings for her?"
"Are you an Idiot?" and before Argen could run again, Cyprus arms is already locked around her head. Headlock, dragging her all the way inside the supermarket.
"Stupid! Let me go!" She tried to get away, useless of course.
"Shut up, Aswang!"
"Putangina mo, Kuya! Kamukha mo si Kingkong! Ampanget mo!"
Loosing energy and realizing whatever she does is completely useless against his brother, she surrenders in the sturdy arms and let his brother take her to whatever the hell they go when something caught her orbs.
'The devil's finest trick is to persuade you that he does not exist.'
What an interesting choice of ad.
