Chapter 35 - Gold Bullion Robbery

In the blink of an eye, three days had passed. Ye Yang showed up at Phoenix Villa.

There was currently a wedding ceremony being held at the restaurant. The wedding was set up on a grassy plain. As it wasn't too hot outside, the location was remarkably suitable for such an event.

The azure skies were clear and the plains emerald green. The bride was in a pure white wedding dress and they had innocent-looking flower girls and boys. The whole setup definitely gave off a sacred feeling. Many people had gathered around to offer their blessings to the newlywed couple.

Ye Yang wasn't here to host the wedding. Although he had acquired Phoenix Villa, the restaurant was actually capable enough to host a wedding without his specific instructions.

Ye Yang was here as a guest. As Huang Ruobing's days at the office had been torturous, she couldn't make it to the wedding so Ye Yang had to attend the event in her place.

By now, Ye Yang was known by almost everyone in the community of elites. After all, He Dong's continuous attacks at Huang Ruobing, and her stubbornness in the face of such relentless attacks was watched with great interest by many.

Next to Ye Yang was a remarkably beautiful girl. From the moment he sat down, Ye Yang could already tell the identity of his neighbor. Sitting beside him was none other than Qian Yurou.

No one here didn't know who Qian Yurou was. Qian Yurou's father was Qian Sihai, the wealthiest man in Riverside City. He was a tycoon in the gold business and about ninety percent of the precious metal retailers within the city were established by him. It wouldn't be wrong to say that Qian Sihai was running a gold monopoly here.

Being Qian Sihai's only daughter, Qian Yurou was by no means a brainless bimbo. Quite the contrary actually, she was a competent woman who had begun to gradually take over her father's business.

It could be said that Qian Yurou was a veritable figure of authority. Even Huang Ruobing had yet to reach the same level of achievement as her.

Reminded of Huang Ruobing, Ye Yang's gaze became shrouded by mystery. This Qian Yurou lady was apparently 'best friends' with his girlfriend-in-name.

Qian Yurou hadn't realized who was sitting beside her. She was currently on the phone. After taking the call, her expression seemed unusually dark.

However, Qian Yurou didn't display any excessive emotions. It was impossible to deduce what she had heard over the call.

This didn't seem like an insignificant matter. At first, Qian Yurou's expression had been quite casual, but then, her face turned graver as if something she did not anticipate had happened.

It turned out that while Qian Yurou was attending this wedding, the Qian family's biggest gold store had been robbed.

Qian Yurou was found it hard to believe. They were living in a lawful society. The security system they used was on par with that of commercial banks, so it was impossible for them to suffer such huge losses with the police on their side. That was unless...unless something had happened that even Qian Yurou was unaware of.

Fearing the worst, Qian Yurou began recollecting her composure. Things didn't seem so simple. The Qian family operated so many gold stores that if the robbers wanted to sell off their stolen goods, chances are, the items would return to the Qian family's inventory sooner or later.

Since the store was smashed open, their losses must've been significant. For this reason, Qian Yurou decided to make a trip to the store.

Qian Yurou was a person of action. Upon hanging up, she got ready to leave when Ye Yang suddenly spoke, "Is it because a gold store has been robbed?"

Qian Yurou paused, clearly not expecting to hear this from Ye Yang. Although Ye Yang was speaking the truth, Qian Yurou wasn't going to just spill the beans because of that. "How did you know about this?"

Ye Yang smiled faintly and answered, "Simple guesswork. If you want to head over to the scene right now, I'd advise you not to. Not now at least."

To Qian Yurou, what he said was completely mystifying.

However, Ye Yang was used to being on the receiving end of such scrutiny. During his thousands of years spent in the loop, Ye Yang was more than used to being looked at this way.

In fact, Ye Yang was saying this out of goodwill. He had already known this would happen during his loop. Ye Yang had also investigated the perpetrators and knew that their target wasn't only the gold store. Instead, they had something else prepared.

If Qian Yurou were to head over to investigate the robbery, the perpetrators would proceed to assassinate her.

By now, the perpetrators had probably gotten the assassins to lay in ambush around the crime scene, waiting for Qian Yurou to jump right into their trap. When Qian Yurou showed up, a fake reporter would appear to interview her.

Then, they would take that opportunity to kill her.

It was thanks to the loop that Ye Yang got to find out everything there was to know about the incident.

Ye Yang was indeed giving his advice out of good intentions. He knew that if Qian Yurou were to head to the crime scene now, it would undoubtedly turn out to be a lethal trap. This knowledge prompted him to speak up.

However, Ye Yang didn't expect that his words would kill the idea in Qian Yurou's mind. For many people, if something like this were to happen to their business, it was only natural that they would hurry over to take a look. And Qian Yurou was going to be assassinated because of such a predictable reaction.

Yet, how should he explain this to her? Even if he did do so, would Qian Yurou proceed as per Ye Yang's instructions? This was something Ye Yang was unsure about.

This was considered his first meeting with Qian Yurou. For him to say this so abruptly when they had only just met, Qian Yurou might either think he was insane and proceed with her plans, only to get killed in the end, or Qian Yurou might find him suspicious, thinking that he was the mastermind behind all this and then sell him out.

And Qian Yurou wanted neither of these to happen.
