"Yes." Alaina croaked out not looking at him.
"Yes what? Yes to a punishment or yes to what I told you about the tasks?" he was only pushing her now.
"Yes I will get this done." She gritted low and slow. She hated saying that now when yesterday she was so confidently telling him she won't and he can maker her.
How could she have lost so soon and so easy?
"Good girl." He praised in a husky voice approving to her docile attitude.
Where, for some fucked up reason, Alaina felt good hearing those same words from him yesterday when he was saving her from that grizzly bear, today they were a scornful splash of acid on her self-respect.
