It was about only few minutes of running that she took a turn and could no longer see the campus gates behind her. Alaina stopped and hunched over on her knees to catch her breath. She was completely out of stamina for this but she won't give up because she can't as she had no other way to get back to Ivar's house but on foot.
While Alaina was busy gasping for air she thought she heard something in the woods to her right. It was the sounds that caught her attention but she ignored it thinking it must be countless of different species inhabiting the woods as their home for who knows how long.
By the looks of it, the woods in these parts of the states were centuries old, meaning there must be old flora and fauna flourishing inside she should pay much heed to the sounds.
Alaina began her jog once again which would slowly pick up into a nice fast sprint but before she could increase her speed the sounds again reached her ears and this time she could ignore.
