Dan took me back to the cabin, my head hung low, disappointed.
There was only one way to find out for sure what was going on.
I rang the Chancellor, "Good evening, sir."
His voice sank low, "Jerm, I didn't expect to hear from you so soon. How are you?"
My eyes locked with Dan's, "Sir, everything is going perfectly. The mission is a true success. Quibly kind can co-exist on Earth with the humans. As soon as you're ready you can begin to send them down."
He stuttered, "Well…Jerm…well, that's interesting. Has anything of note happened recently?"
Dan shook his head giving me the approval to proceed, "Sir, the Zawn you sent to exterminate me while I was out of sight of all the other Quiblys failed. You failed."
Chancellor Shrew's line went silent.
An interruption in the communication came through, "Chancellor, this is the Quibly Bureau of Conduct. We would like to have a word with you. Open your door."
I transferred the picture through my communication device to everyone on the line, "Here's the proof QBC. How do you wish me to proceed?"
The authoritative voice responded, "You are to return home immediately. You will be debriefed, examined, and we will decide the rest after that. You are to turn the Zawn over to your human FBI friend."
It was almost time for me to go home.
Sadness filled my entire human and Quibly body.
Dan patted my shoulder and cried with me.
I would have to leave in the morning.
