DJ nodded and swallowed hard, taking a deep breath as he stepped into the party area. It would be easy to lose him in a crowd, and... maybe find the reason he was so nervous, and... giggly.
Ryker walked out behind DJ, sticking close to him.
There were people there from their school. The party was being hosted by someone who was a more well known person in their class. Drinks were being handed out to everyone and it was very much a fun time for everyone who was there. Some drinks were offered to DJ and Ryker, in which Ryker would refuse as they continued to walk to get DJ some water.
DJ looked around, the lights flashing and blinding him a bit as he washed pushed around. His head was screaming, and faces began appearing in the crowd. Faces of dead people. Of course, this was one thing Echo couldn't control. This was the real reason DJ had his at the party that night. The corpses. This was something completely out of the dream, but rather a creation his own mind presented on the daily. Schizophrenia was a crazy thing.
Ryker (Echo) looked at DJ and frowned. "DJ, is everything-"
Suddenly, he was run into from behind by someone, interrupting his thought. Ryker.
The two looked each other up and down for a moment, processing the fact that they were looking at themselves. The music changed tone, the lights dimming a bit. Totally lost in the moment, Echo grabbed the front of Ryker's shirt, pushing him down to the ground, now sitting on him. "What the hell are you doing here?!" he shouted over the music.
Echo has a thing with anger... he doesn't handle it well when his plans are thrown off course. Echo pulled Ryker up and slammed his back down hard against the floor again, the beat of the music seeming to change to one more fast due to this action.
DJ's eyes widened and a small smile grew on his face. Taking a deep breath, he looked around, grabbing a bottle of one of the many alcoholic beverages lying around. Holding the neck of it, he broke it over the back of Echo's head, liquid and glass going everywhere on the dance floor.
A cry of pain came from Echo as he got hit with the bottle, it got lost in the cheers from the very drunk crowd. He let go of Ryker's shirt and crawled off of him, shaking his head trying to get the pain to go away.
Ryker sat up and smiled a little at DJ. He then got up off the floor, brushing some glass off of him. "DJ we need to get out of here, we are all trapped in a dream." he said quickly, reaching to take him hand.
"NO-" Echo's voice raised as he pushed himself up to his feet. "-You're not going anywhere." he continued, then let out a more devilish laugh.
DJ grabbed Ryker's hand and helped pull him to his feet, taking a deep breath as he turned back toward Echo. His expression hardened and he moved so Ryker was behind him.
Yeah right, DJ.
"And why is that? You're going to stop us through dreams, yeah, but what's the point? Why are you doing this? You're gaining NOTHING from trapping us all in your little dream world. Yeah, in here? You pretty much control everything with that tacky piece of jewelry, but outside?" DJ laughed coldly. "You're nothing, and that's all you ever will be."
Echo laughed humorlessly at DJ's attempts to make him react. "Bold of you to assume I don't already know that DJ." he said.
Ryker took a few steps to the side of DJ, now in a better position to help if needed.
"It doesn't even matter what happens to me because you are all going to be too late anyways!" Echo continued. "Those you love will parish because you were too slow to react to the situation that was unfolding right under your noses."
DJ narrowed his eyes and stared at Echo. "...what the fuck are you talking about? The situation with everyone falling asleep? Yeah, we got that." He took a deep breath and, subconsciously when he said those you love, he grabbed Ryker's hand.ooo.
Ryker squeezed DJ's hand a little as he grabbed it, his eyes not leaving Echo.
Echo rolled his eyes, taking out his necklace from under his shirt. It glowed a little and he chuckled softly. "Alright DJ..." he nodded a little, then poofed. The two boys were surrounded by a blinding light.
They were no longer in DJ's dream.
