[Crash]

Students rushed from classrooms and dashed into the hallway. Within seconds of the sound, a crowd had already been formed and the clamour had begun. The main question was- what had actually happened. That's when they arrived, the monarchs, a group of people who were deemed superior because of their abilities. The world was fair until Shay Perkins made the hierarchy. It seemed fair that those weaker than others should be under them, and that everything was based on power.

Tavaris opened his eyes. His back ached and could feel a hot liquid gushing out of his head. The slight feeling of a crack was felt beneath him. He finally came to the realisation that he had messed up. Matt stepped out of the room and gave a death stare towards Tavaris. "I thought you were strong!" Matt bellowed. "You managed to hold up against those weaklings in the alley!" he called."I guess you aren't as tuff as you were yesterday, PFFT, what a waste of time!"

Matt walked over to the monarchs. "Sorry, I'm late guys, had to deal with that weasel" boasted Matt. Tavaris wasn't upset. It was the last time he would see those idiotic faces anyway. He stood up, dusted off and just before he could walk away, a yellow spark caught him in the head. He already knew that Matt hadn't actually left. Matt had waited for him, made it look like he had left, just to continue the fight. Matt was Rank n.o9. Out of the ten monarchs, he was the second weakest. Tavaris' Jordans squeaked as he scraped his feet on the polished floor. He dashed through the corridors and out into the sun. Today was his last day at school- next, he was going to the army.

20 years ago, A group of people showed the earth that there was another type being that existed within the universe, the Taga. They had warned against this race but it was too late. The race was far more advanced, and the things that were 'easy' to them, was beyond leaps and bounds for us. They saw us as weaker and had the idea that they should rule over us. That's why for 10 years a war that seemed to last forever, held out. That's when the original monarchs came and shared the secret of how to activate your ability. 9 years into the war and the humans finally found a way to fight back. Guns didn't work and the Taga were so advanced, nukes could be sent out through their portals. After the first raid, they managed to salvage an airship. That's when he debuted. Vincent Amarillo Spaulding worked his blood and sweat dry to create the first working and useable portal. Every tear, every cry, every scream of pain and hurt went away when this portal was tested to work. After that, the tables turned drastically. Only two months after, the Humans had pushed the Taga back into a corner. Defeat at this point was not avoidable and it's because of that, the Taga threw in the towel. 10 years, humanity had improved so much. Now, the threat from the Taga has been vicious than ever. After we started using the portals, we managed to find other planets, but on those planets, live the Eclava. The Eclava are beasts, they come in different variations and will attack at no means. Within them, they hold bismuth crystals, however, these crystals are different, they can boost your abilities. The brighter they glow, the more rare the crystal is.

Tavaris couldn't wait to join the army. His parents were Original monarchs but they weren't able to teach him before they left and when they left, they died. All they left him was a book. It looked extremely black, but you could tell a bit that it was purple. There was a seal on the front that read, "Land of the Sun, Sea of the Dark" Tavaris couldn't understand what it meant by that but he could tell it was some kind of book that was to do with his parent's ability. He had tested many things on the book but it wouldn't open at all. With a heavy sigh, "test number 324, I'm lucky to have got my hands on this, please work" he carefully took out a secure test tube and with amazing speed, he splashed down the contents onto the book. The book glowed purple for a split second but when back to normal after. He threw the tube at his fish tank. Water gushed out and pushed the book onto the floor. The water began to dilute, from sea green to black. When Tavaris saw this he freaked and broke the skylight. The sun beat down on the book. The rays turned black. "Land of the sun, Sea of the Dark," he thought. He kept saying this until he said it out loud. Purple smoke filled the room
