"As you see, my master's host is safe," Nike said, packing her loose hair back into a ponytail. "Now please, we have more urgent matters to attend to."
Sharina looked like she wanted to retaliate, but Newt silenced her by pinching her arm gently. Fuming, she kept her mouth shut and hissed, crossing her arms. The two had been going back and forth for a short while, Sharina stating the risks Nike had taken, and the goddess repeating she had everything under control. Jack had no choice but to watch the continuous verbal game of tennis, still amused the goddess resembled an eighteen-year-old biker.
Nike smiled, happy she had gotten the last say in the argument, and faced Jack. She got on one knee and bowed her head respectfully.
"Welcome back."
Jack looked to the others, speechless at the respect she was giving him. It was Newt that stepped up to speak for him.
