I lay on the ground as a bloody, broken, battered and beaten mess. I looked on helplessly as Ashley dashed to the top of the nearby rock and prepared her sword to finish me off. I knew that there was no way I would survive this. The faint voice in my head continued to call out as it had been there since the entire fight.
'Take me! I can help you!', it kept chanting but I had been able to ignore it thus far because of the adrenaline built up by this fight.
"Aurora!" I heard a voice call out and immediately I realized it was Jasmine.
"Aurora! Don't you dare die in this battle! If you die, then your siblings will be next! Then the entire Kingdom is next" Jasmine bellowed.
I used whatever mental strength I had in me left to think about what she just said and came out empty.
I felt a sharp pain pulsate throughout my body as I heard his words and the whispering in my head slowly grew into a deep growl.
"Accept me Sophie! We are one and will always be! Alone you can do nothing but together we can save the kingdom!"
Jasmine Winters – POV
As I watching Aurora getting beat up by Ashley and being able to do nothing made me quake in fear. After hurling a huge lightning bolt at her the whole arena was lit up. After a few moments the rest of what of seems to be her body was lying across one of the corners in the field looking battered and bruised and breathing faintly.
Suddenly I was dragged away from reality and into a weird looking place. The place or dimension or whatever was soon giving the creeps as I found myself alone in such a place.
"Things have turned out quite messy haven't they?" A voice coming from my back asked me. I was in fear of what might come of me when I eventually see this person.
Finally the figure walked towards me slowly, exuding a majestic aura which screamed power. The female had a six foot tall stature with an athletic muscular build, despite her head and body being covered by a white cloak. Her face was adorned with sharp blue eyes which struck fear into my heart. The finishing touches to her personal theme was her white hair which shone even with the cloak covering her face.
"Who are you?" I interrogated.
"Me? I am but a figment of the past. A forgotten memory. However my name is still uttered in praise and yet they have no name for me" she chuckled lightly.
She paused before continuing "Now let's take a bit of a trip down memory lane shall we? Before it's too late. Only you can change this particular future that will come to be once again if you fail to alter the past. And I will not come to lend you a hand next time. Now let's go. Tick tock, time is ticking".
Aurora POV
At that moment, Ashley let her blast loose and lightning consumed my body.
Jasmine Winters POV
"Noooooooooooooooooooo" I shouted seeing the scene that unfolded right before me before realizing I was too late once again and history had just repeated itself.
The crowd went silent as the smoke and lightning began to clear. I dropped to my knees feeling like a complete failure for I was incapable of completing such a simple task.
Suddenly a maniacal cackle laugh erupted from the field. I raised my dropped head and glared wide eyed at the field. At the spot where Aurora had been lying, a woman now stood. She grabbed her shoulder and popped it back into place and his left arm which had been broken, twisted and bent in all directions, untwisted itself quickly and regained a fixed form.
She passed her fingers through her hair which is now white in colour. Her mischievous blue eyes glared at a confused Ashley while a huge grin stretched from ear to ear across her defined face.
Ashley zipped away and shakily got to her feet. She could barely stand and was quite unstable but she managed to draw her spear once more.
"This again?" Aurora snickered, "Du-Ragnarok!" She stretched her arms while speaking in an unknown language. On either side of herself and slowly two swords began to form within her palms. On her left a Golden blade formed. It's design was intricate and embossed at various points along its handle and edge. The sword emitted the distinct, bright element of light. On her right an Onyx blade formed. It design was simpler than the sister's but it was interesting nonetheless. This sword emitting a choking dark mist from it's form. Shadow maybe? No… this was far different. This weapon seemed to emit pure Darkness.
Ashley shot another blast right at Aurora but she didn't even seemed to be shaken in the slightest. She clashed her blades together infront of her body and two swirling streams of light and darkness shot forth. They meshed together forming a huge blast which collided head on with Ashley's attack. The lightning couldn't hold a second against Aurora's move and it was quickly dispersed by it. Ashley barely escaped the blast from Aurora's attack by zipping into the air. She remained airborne by zooming around with her lightning all while throwing her electrical projectiles down at the girl. Aurora ran around the battle field avoiding each and every bolt with ease.
"Is that all you got?" she jested, "Then allow me to even the playing field. You aerial advantage is getting quite annoying". She spoke in a joking and mischievous tone everytime and I could see that it was annoying Ashley.
Aurora let out a roar and at that instant she sprouted white leathery wings lined gold intricate. I stared in shock and amazement at what was happening before me. It was only then I recalled that I had seen this before in a book I was reading sometimes back. It was about a ancient technique in which warriors used to used to fight. Basically all this technique consists of is the rider and the dragon merging together and the rider gets an outrageous amount of hidden abilities that can be used in winning battles. But seeing the actual technique right before my eyes it was quite a sight to see.
Aurora took to the skies with a wingspan easily more than four times her normal height. Ashley shot a barrage of blasts at her in panic but she swiftly flew around them with expert maneuvers.
She dove down and then flew upwards quickly ramming into Ashley and slamming into the top of the barrier. He immediately nosedived, slamming down into the earth and causing the entire field to crack up before zooming back up at abnormal speed.
Just about as he was about to strike the referee teleported in and took Ashley away before the damage could be done. Missing his attack her blades dug into the ground with brunt force. The twin swords blasted erupted from the ground and consumed the field in their destructive path. The blast shot upwards, completely shattering the impenetrable barrier and the swirling beam of light and darkness shot up into the air, churning the skies.
The attack still didn't stop at that as it continued at large. The two beams collided and with a grand explosion the entire field was destroyed. The onlookers began to rush out of the coliseum as the roof and walls began to cave in as the structure itself absorbed the damage in the absence of the barrier.
The next I knew, I saw the girl falling from the sky unconscious as she began to revert to her normal form.
