Morning came and everything seems surreal, Tyler saw her face inches away from his, she's sleeping so soundly and he didn't want to disturb her. He stares and caress her cheek softly as if he was holding the most fragile object in the world.
When she opened her eyes, Tyler was disappointed to see it being Hazel, how he missed those green eyes. She smiles. "Good morning. " Tyler let out a sigh and replied to her taking back his hand. "Good morning Hazel. " Hazel softly smiled at him, the smile she was wearing since they got married, the smile that hides deep feelings inside.
The feeling of being the 2nd priority, the 2nd option.

"Dad!! Mom!! Good morning! " The two kids exclaimed in unison. The both of them smiled to their kids and give them both a kiss on the forehead. "Good morning, mom's gonna go cook breakfast. Any request? And please go get ready for school. " The kids both have their own and Tyler silently watch them then his eyes lands on the ring in his hand and he remembered Lavender once again.
"Promise me, you'll be happy. Okay? "
Those were her last words towards Tyler. A hand grasp on his hand tightly and what he saw was Hazel's smiling face. "What about you hun? The usual? " The 'usual' means the breakfast he makes for Lavender when she was with him. Bacon and eggs, with french toast. Tyler smiles and shook his head. "I'll have your specialty this time, hun. " Her eyes search something in his before she nods and went to the kitchen leaving him there to think.
Not for long though, two footsteps came running towards him that made him smile. "So, daddy? What about Frank's question last night? " Abigail exclaimed excitedly. "Don't you have school? I don't want my sweetheart getting late. " Abigail pouted at his father's remarks but remained there standing beside him. Franklin on the other hand went to his mother's side and helped with breakfast.
"Mom, I couldn't help but notice but sometimes I think Dad's being distant to you. Does he hate you? " Hazel paused and stared at the food she was preparing then turn her gaze at her son. "Silly, how could your Dad hate me? Infact, he doesn't have any strong feelings towards Mom. Now, let's get this talk go for now and we'll have breakfast together. "
After awhile, the kids have gone off to school while Hazel and Tyler head off to their works. Hazel works as a general manager at a restaurant 10 minutes drive from home while Tyler works at the publishing company as a publisher. Some says, mostly their friends, that they both choose a busy work to forget about the things that they should've forgotten for a long time—Lavender.

Hazel went home early, cleaned herself and the house as well. Then her gaze fell on the drawer near at the hallway to their room, she opened it and saw the portrait. She can never forget those green eyes and smile, she's indeed beautiful inside and out.
"Lavender.. " her fingers traces the portrait, the longing is visible in her face. "What have I done? I'm sorry. " She whispered as her cheeks starts to damp in tears.

Hazel Gabriel as a student is very modest and focused. She also loves cooking and is trying to become a chef when she becomes of age. The bell rangs as she steps on the door of her classroom and everyone else settled down. "Hey Hazel! Here, I saved you a seat. " Her eyes gaze on a girl with the brightest smile and most mesmerizing green eyes—Her bestfriend—Lavender Green.
She smiled before she headed towards her. "It's rare that you came a little late than usual, anything interesting happened? " Lavender ask as Hazel settles on the seat next to her, beside the window. Hazel can clearly see the field where other student from another class is having their P.E. "Nothing much, just some... things. " With things she meant the guy she was staring at at the field smiling widely as he managed to dunk the ball.
"Ohhh, things huh? We've been bestfriends since junior high, you can't lie to me. " Giggling as she saw her friend Hazel staring outside the field. She knew she had a crush on something she's just not that nosy to get her to talk about it.
Soon, the teacher comes and the classes started. Hazel glances at her friend who was busy listening to the lecture, she saw how Lavender bumped into Tyler earlier today and she was envious of that but she knew Lavender wouldn't think about that guy, or so she did.
Lunch came. "You go ahead Lav and save us a seat, I'll head to the lockers first. " She told her friend as they both went out of the room. "Are you sure? Well, the boys at the cafeteria looks like gorilla's that haven't eaten in ages so yeah I better save us both some seat. " Hazel laughs at her friends remarks and they both went their ways.
Not long, Hazel headed to the caf and looked for Lavender which isn't difficult, the thing is Lavender is seating with Tyler and Rafael. She hesitated but it's too late to back out for Lavender saw her already and was waving at her. "Hazel! Here! here! " Hazel nodded but couldn't help but feel envious of Lavender seating next to Tyler. "Hi, so you're Hazel. Nice to meet you I'm Tyler and that guy beside you is Rafael. Your friend kinda talked a lot and told us about you. " She blushed "Nice to meet you as well... " She shyly say but noticed how Tyler looks at Lavender, she felt weird.
——
A door opening cuts off Hazel's reminiscing and immediately put back Lavender's portrait. "What are you doing? " Tyler's coldness wraps her as his eyes lingers on the opened drawer. Hazel bowed her head and heave a sigh before brushing off her tears before smiling and looking up to meet Tyler's eyes.
"I..was just..looking. How's your work? " Her eyes scans his face and saw the longing, nostalgic emotion but brush it off and smile. "You shouldn't be touching her portrait Hazel." Her eyes flashed pain but Tyler didn't mind it and went to take the portrait out to check if it's damaged. "H-how could you..? She was my bestfriend before you came. " Tyler only looked at her unfazed. "What? Am I not allowed to miss her? To long for her? "
Hazel starts to tear up and that sends annoyance in Tyler. "Ohh, shut up Hazel. We both know what happened! So shut the fck up and stop pretending! I'm so tired of this! " Then left Hazel their overwhelmed and broken.
"I..I didn't mean it.. " she whispered as the door from their bedroom closed.
