Chapter 55 - New Task

Gyo finally begins his journey to his mother's hometown with the aim of regaining the Gold Eyes ability that he previously lost. The basketball practice site became deserted due to Gyo's absence which made the other team members wonder because it was unusual for Gyo not to participate in training activities even Ren, who was Gyo's closest person, did not know Gyo's whereabouts.

"Is it true that you don't know anything about Gyo's whereabouts? We were quite worried about his condition when the last sparring his attitude looked gloomy," Shin asked Ren.

By shaking his head Ren replied, "I've even asked his mother and her mother said that she hasn't been home since the last practice and hasn't come back yet."

Everyone who heard Ren's answer began to wonder about Gyo's situation and togetherness that no one knew, even though without them knowing that Gyo's mother lied to them according to Gyo's request so that they wouldn't worry about him. With a high sense of comrades' loyalty, they finally decided to find out about Gyo's whereabouts after training.

Meanwhile, Gyo, who had been leaving since morning, finally arrived at his mother's hometown where his grandfather had been waiting for his arrival. Seeing the figure of his grandfather standing at the door of the house made him remember something about his grandfather's character.

"Ah shit ... I was too excited to come here to forget Grandpa's overly affectionate nature that often irritates me," muttered Gyo.

The hair on his neck got goosebumps when he heard his grandfather's voice calling softly and tried to approach him while giving him a warm hug and a kiss like a toddler.

"Grandfather's only grandson finally came, here give grandfather a hug," said Gyo's grandfather as he prepared to hug his grandson.

Gyo was forced to hug his grandfather's body even though his feelings of inferiority overcame him, but this was done by Gyo to please his grandfather who had not seen him for a long time.

After the reunion that seemed gloomy, Gyo immediately asked about the whereabouts of the ancestral grave which was his current goal but as if he wanted to delay it, Gyo's grandfather gave a thousand reasons so that Gyo could stay with him as long as possible. Because of his grandfather's attitude, Gyo out quietly and finally found the whereabouts of the tomb when Gyo cleverly said that he wanted to make a pilgrimage to the grave with his grandfather and when his grandfather let his guard down, Gyo quickly left the house without his grandfather noticing.

Arriving at Gyo in the tomb, he saw a box that glowed along with a piece of paper he was carrying and the tomb that was shaped like a cave seemed to draw out Gyo's energy so that it made him unconscious. Without realizing it, now Gyo is already in his soul realm where an old, old figure is sitting smiling staring at Gyo.

"Finally we meet the ancestors again or I can say that you are Grand, right? Right? Right? You have been living in Gold Eyes, don't you think?" Gyo stared at the figure while trying to be as natural as possible not to show that he was currently scared.

"You're smart enough to know that too but unfortunately right now I'm just a self-projection that appears when you're scared," replied the old Grand.

"What do you mean to say that? Aren't you showing up right now to give me a test?" asked Gyo.

"You will know when you start the real exam but now let me tell you something because I don't have much time," replied the old Grand.

"Then can you explain your intentions and goals?" asked Gyo again.

Grand then tells about himself who once lost his eye ability when he started his third test because at that time he was so arrogant because of his abilities but with the storage box he searched painstakingly in the rubble where he found Gold Eyes he could regain his eye ability.

Gyo pondered for a moment then asked about the magic paper that Hans had previously given and how Hans could find out about it.

"Actually, when I was traveling time, I had a chance to meet Hans and his changes when defeating the evil forces in his White Eyes touched me so I entrusted him to help the heirs of the legendary eye including yourself," said the old Grand.

Hearing this, Gyo became shocked and began to think about Hans's words that wanted to rest in peace and finally Gyo realized something.

"I think right now Hans wants to die soon because he has lived a long life for too long, but because of the mission you gave him he delayed it," said Gyo.

"Your words are only half correct because right now he doesn't know how to die when his body is immortal.

"But I did not tell him that as long as heir to the eye of the heir can defeat him then what he wants can be achieved," explained Grand at length.

"Is that true? So it's our job as heirs to the eye of the current heirs to defeat them but isn't that too difficult?" asked Gyo.

"Don't worry, as long as you try there will definitely be an opportunity and remember that the evil force will always try to come back any time when there is even the slightest evil intention in your mind." Grand finally disappeared from Gyo's sight at the same time as his last words.

Shortly after the old Grand disappeared, Gyo woke up to find that his left eye was slowly starting to emit a faint light. Immediately, Gyo did the instructions given by Hans by placing the magic paper he brought into the Gold Eyes storage box until finally Gyo returned to his soul realm.

Different from the previous one, now in front of him stood a black figure who he knew as Pride.

"Finally we meet again but this time it's not like before," said Gyo looking at Pride who smiled at him.

"Ha-ha-ha ... apparently you can enter this place once again but I hope you are still like the old days who were easily overpowered by evil forces," replied Pride.

Without further ado, Pride immediately restarted the exam that had failed Gyo and now he saw that Gyo's determination was stronger than during their previous meeting.

Gyo was again taken to the lake and immediately restarted the test by fishing for something in the lake but this time Gyo focused himself on not thinking about anything negative and making evil thoughts enter him.

It turns out that the test this time is more difficult than Gyo thought because the more he concentrates on not thinking about anything negative, the greater the desires that will arise when he regains his eye ability later. The feeling of arrogance when he was about to win the match, the feeling of greed for strength, the feeling of jealousy because of his opponent's ability that was far above him, the feeling of anger when he was about to be defeated immediately arose in his heart making him overcome by four deadly sins at once but Gyo vigorously tried to fight these feelings.

Seeing Gyo who was in trouble, Pride who saw him looked at Gyo's face with a smile. In his heart he muttered, "during the second test you managed to beat me easily because I was not ready but now the test is getting harder, I hope you can survive to the end and later when you succeed then I will tell you that part of my memory has returned."
