"Blood? Between the floorboards? How'd that get there?" Inspector Pith asked, rather annoyed.
"I don't know yet. Jacobs and Dawes are going through city records to find out who owns the place. Until then I'm going to talk to the members of the house and any friends of Mrs. Chase. Hopefully they will be able to shed some light on this situation,"
"Alright, bring me the list when you're done,"

"I've found it Timothy! The owner is Robert Chase, you know him, Timothy. His wife is the one that was murdered."
Dawes showed the document to Jacobs.
"So? Someone could have broken in and shot Mrs. Chase," Said Jacobs.
"Yes, but it's still a lead," Dawes grinned.
"It's not going to lead you anywhere Andrew. It's just a name on some paper,"
"The detective will be happy to know this, I can assure you that much, Timothy. He always says that it's the small things that lead to the bigger picture."
Just then, Detective Clayton walked out of his office and approached the two.
"What have you, Andrew?"
"Well, sir-"
"The property belongs to Robert Chase," Timothy cut in.
"Very good, Timothy! You're catching on fast. See, it's the small details that always lead to the bigger picture."
Timothy gave a sly smile while Andrew glared.
"Thank you sir,"
"Now, why does Mr. Chase have two houses? And why does one have blood on the floor."

"He left the day before yesterday," Dallas Chase, Robert Chase's brother, answered. "I haven't the faintest idea where he went,"
"Do you know why he owns two houses?" Clayton asked.
"Oh, that. He lets me stay there when I come to visit,"
"I see. Perhaps you can tell me, then, why there was blood between the floorboards of your livingroom?"
Dallas' demeanor changed slightly. His eyes flitted to the door and he rubbed the palm of his hand with his thumb.
"Blood, you say?"
"Yes, blood. One of our constables found it,"
"Well, I-I-I-" Dallas stuttered.
It was then that Constable Jacobs came through the door;
"Sir, there's been another murder,"
