Leon woke up the next day. When he tried to get up he staggered because his body still ached from yesterday.
'Ahh, I had thought this may have been some funky dream, guess not'
*Oi Kiddo, It's time for the training montage to begin, want me to play some motivational music for you bud?*
'You can play music Hermes?'
*No ahaha, but it would be cool if I could, don't you think, you would be like Rocky Balboa*
'Hermes I'm in a forest with magic monsters, I'm pretty sure it's cooler than Rocky'
*Not to me it ain't*
And so whilst they were quarrelling and bickering with one another, they began there monotonous routine that lasted them three months. At first Leon trained in Archery. He would spend a few hours in the morning practicing, trying to ingrain the movements into his muscle memory. Then he would go out to hunt. Some days our protagonist would get lucky, some days he would have to eat shrubbery, and some days he would not eat anything at all. Quickly, in each others company, the three months passed by
As he etched the last line into the tree, Leon felt a sense of accomplishment. This line represented the end of his training.
*Congrats Kid, lets have a look at your stats now, I know you were mad that I kept them hidden from you, but you can't rely on stats to show growth, you got to feel it yourself*
'Yeah you've been saying that for a while now, I may not get it but you're the Big Boss here Hermes'
*Of course you don't get it I am an enlightened one Amitabha young one, you must seek the Da-*
'Shut up Big Boss with your nonsense. Alright System show me my Stats'

'AHAHA, now this is nice. Not only did I train my body to such an extent without using stat points, but now I'm close to healing my roots. This is great, It has been such a pity that I haven't been able to use the manual.'
*Good going boy. I say a congratulations is in order. Now Kid where are you going to allocate your stat points. I think it's pretty important to figure out which direction you wanna go in as a fighter. Of course cultivation will help you, but unless you find a specialised manual, then it will unilaterally increase your stats.*
'I'll keep giving it some thought Big Boss, by the way, I've been wanting to ask, how come there's no Language Learning book in the shop?'
*That's because you don't really need one kid. I mean I will just relay the words they are saying to you in your language and vice versa. Others will hear you speak their language, and you will hear them speak yours. Hehe Big Boss is pretty useful don't you think?*
'You're not too bad Big Boss. Well I think it's finally time to leave this wretched forest. Of course, I am gonna upgrade my roots on the way, hehe'
Leon went back to the cave and he packed up all his stuff. Not that he really had much stuff, all he really got was his sword and his bow. His arrows were left in his inventory, but the rest, the leftover food, the self made bed, all that he figured it would be best to leave it here. As he was leaving his little abode he felt a bit sad. I mean if you spend a lot of time in one place of course you'll get attached to it ever so slightly. As he was leaving the cave he felt determined to get stronger. And then before he left this world he would visit visit his little cave once more. It was his first home after all.
Leon then set off. He couldn't wait to find a village and make some friends, something he was not able to really do in his past life. He was looking forward to the adventure that was ahead of him.
Leon spent the best part of a week hunting and travelling. He was able to upgrade his roots, but because they were the lowest level he didn't really get very far in cultivation. I mean it was a totally new thing to him, but he was enjoying the learning more about it. Leon also wanted to try and get a talent upgrade before he levelled up. He may have been on the outer perimeter of the forest, but it still took him quite a while to leave.
About a month after he had left his cave, Leon was finally out of the forest. He had somehow managed to get the Talent Upgrade just before he hit level five.
*Haha Kid don't tell me that you activated your protagonist aura did you?*
'Nah Big Boss I've been working pretty hard to get this Talent Upgrade, I mean I even stalled my Level for a while whilst farming those beasts. Anyway, tell me how far is the closest village'
*Ah Kid you're in luck, there's a nice little village over the way. It's about an hours walk west from where we are now. You must have been missing human interaction, am I not enough for you?*
'No no not at all Big Boss, but you're just a part of the system, I just wanna see some real people at the moment.'
*Boohoo, that hurts.*
'Don't worry Big Boss we'll always be together'
*Hehe Kid, you know how to coax this Big Boss. Anyway keep on moving, your prized Humans aren't too far from here.*
And so Leon kept walking until an hour later he finally reached the little village settlement.
'Finally..'
