Yang Yun, hearing Xiao Meng's words, then leaned his head down as he carefully spoke, "Xiao Meng, we are all people living in the same house, and we see each other every day. Since this is the case, it is inevitable for us to have a good relationship with each other."
Yang Yun rubbed his hands as he continued, "You see, do you think that you can help us to ask your brother to cook for us? For the sake of our good relationship?"
"You want my Big Brother to help cook for you? Why don't you just ask him directly instead?" Xiao Meng smilingly replied.
"Xiao Meng, we have some…difficulties. We know your Big Brother always listens to you, so could you help us to ask him?" Yang Ran bitterly smiled as she chipped in and said.
"Hehe, Sister Yang Ran, you have been helping me study these past few days, I'm sure my Big Brother won't mind cooking for you." Xiao Meng responded as a gleam flashed in her eyes.
And that was when Si Chen, who stood at the background, dryly coughed to show his existence in this place.
Xiao Meng immediately turned her head around and saw Si Chen, "Big Brother, they told me that they are feeling hungry and want to take advantage of me to make you cook"
The pair of siblings instantly moved away from Xiao Meng and looked elsewhere, as if they had nothing to do with this.
"Tsk. Do you think I am your personal chef? I mean, even personal chef are paid money to cook." Si Chen coldly snorted as he glared towards the two siblings.
"$200 for a month." Si Chen abruptly gave his terms.
"Si...Brother Si Chen. That is too expensive. Could you lower the price by a bit?" Yang Yun changed his address to a more polite one, while trying to haggle.
"$200 a month. But of course, there is another option, which is for free." Si Chen stated.
Yang Yun ears perked up as he instantly asked, "What is it?"
Si Chen took a deep glance towards the pair of siblings, and slowly answered, "You can smell the alluring fragrance of the food that I cook every day from the comforts of your room."
Yang Yun's eyes were shimmering in hope, until he heard Si Chen's words, and could not help but curse inwardly, 'Shameless!'
This person knew how deadly the fragrance of his food is, and is trying to threaten us with it... Yang Yun then turned to face Yang Ran, who showed him a pitiful expression.
"Fine!" Yang Yun finally answered after a while, as he deeply sighed.
"Why are you acting all depressed for? You are already lucky that I charge so less for my food. If you are unhappy with it, I'm sure your parents will be happy to take you back home and eat all the delicacies you can ever have." Si Chen casually stated, then turned towards the kitchen and started whipping out a meal.
All the ingredients he used to cook the food actually belonged to Meng Yao, the landlady. However, since they all lived under the same roof, he figured that she probably won't mind.
One good thing was that Meng Yao had often left in the morning and came late night these past few days for some educational program, so at least he won't be caught. For now.
A while later, he had finished cooking. With his increased knowledge, the food that he had made today was a tad better than his previous attempts.
The mouth-watering aroma of his food quickly permeated the living room, as the two pigs that were lazily sitting on the sofa lifted up their heads and greedily sniffed the air.
Xiao Meng helped to set up the table, while Si Chen placed the plates of food down.
After this was done, Xiao Meng called for the two siblings to come, before they all sat on the same table and began to eat
"Big Brother, you cooking has improved again!" Xiao Meng said in between mouthfuls of food.
Si Chen lightly smiled in return.
Meanwhile, the two siblings quickly dug into their food, and as they got their first taste of it, they both revealed incredulous expressions as they glanced towards each other in astonishment.
This food was akin to the food served in the high end restaurants they had visited! And even better! How was this remotely possible?
"Si Chen, how are you able to cook this standard of food? How many years have you spent learning to cook?" Yang Yun took the initiative to ask, disregarding the hiccups they had with each other, for this was far too shocking to his mind.
"I just…cooked. I started a few days ago." Si Chen replied in a languid manner.
This was true, anyways. The instant noodles which he had made in the past would not even be considered as food.
"That's not possible!" Yang Yun instantly cried out. The chefs working in the high end restaurants all had years of experience in their belts before they could reach their current standard of cooking.
The fact that Si Chen had this standard at his age, was already an anomaly. To reach this standard in a few days, was simply impossible
Si Chen frowned when he heard Yang Yun's sudden cry, as he berated, "No talking while eating. Shut up and eat, or I'm not cooking for you anymore."
With this, Yang Yun lowered his head and continued eating, keeping his silence while doing so.
When they were all done eating, Si Chen pointed towards the pair of siblings, as he ordered, "I cook, and you clean. Clean up the dishes for us."
Both of them looked down towards the dirty plates, as their faces stiffened. It was evident that both of them had never done such a thing before.
"I will wash the dishes. An additional $50 a month." Si Chen threw them a side-eye, and stood up, ready to clean up the dishes.
"Haha, Brother Si Chen, there is no need for you to perform such a tedious task. You cook, we clean. Isn't that normal?" Yang Yun promptly went up to block Si Chen's movements, and directed him towards the sofa.
Then, they both went to clean the dishes for the first time in their lives.
And while they were trying to learn how to wash the dishes, they did not forget to curse Si Chen a thousand times for his peak level of shamelessness
------
A few days later.
Si Chen was sat on one of the tables within the Seafood Restaurant, as he silently listened to the reports by Fang Bin.
"I have already successfully implemented the business plan that you have sent to me a few days ago, although they are still some issues that we need to review, and we may take some time to solve them. But all in all, we have mostly integrated the most part of the plan into our restaurant."
"And as for the new recipes which you have gave us, the chefs have already practiced them with an acceptable level. We are now ready to introduce the new dishes on our menu. I believe that when we achieve this, our restaurant would be able to bounce back up to what it previously was, and even better." Fang Bin glanced at Si Chen, his eyes shining with gratitude.
Si Chen nodded his head as he listened to his every word, his fingers lightly tapping on the table in a rhythmic pattern.
"Since what is done has already been done, we can also roll out the new dishes. But now, let's get onto a more serious topic. The shares distribution." Si Chen directly divulged his intentions.
Fang Bin did not show any surprise on his face, and he merely shook his head as he sighed, "What is to come, has to come. Tell me then, what do you have to offer this time for the rest of my shares?"
His tone did not contain any hostility or enmity, but was a neutral one.
"The issue with the Blue Wave Restaurant. I can solve this for you." Si Chen lightly smiled as he spoke in a casual manner.
Fang Bin, at his words, trembled in his heart, as he looked towards Si Chen with surprise, astonishment, and with most parts, hope.
"Really?" He couldn't help but question.
Although it was true that they would be able to return to their peak after the release of the new recipes, it was not enough to deal with the Blue Wave Restaurant, which had accumulated quite a bit of reputation after their food poisoning incident.
Trying to topple the Blue Wave Restaurant could be said to be nothing but a pipe dream, unless more developments and enhancements were done to their restaurant.
"I have with me a few recipes, recipes that are specialized to deal against the specialties of the Blue Wave Restaurant. Each and every one of them, is a greater and better version of the current specialties that Blue Wave Restaurant is currently selling. Do you understand what this implies?" Si Chen slowly said, as he studied the Fang Bin's reactions.
Not to his surprise, Fang Bin was agitated after hearing this news.
To have specialties that a restaurant attracts the most customers and revenue from, to be thoroughly suppressed by better versions, would simply be the death of the restaurant.
Who would want to dine at a place when others have better quality food of the same type? Who would want to dine at a place, which has no unique areas whatsoever?
Nobody! Absolutely nobody!
