Maki was walking on the road leading to Pardour Square when she was met by her father who was carrying several logs of wood with a dusty bearded face and sore hands, which indicated he had been working nonstop and barely had time to rest.
"Evening, my darling!!," he said enthusiastically as he dropped his logs of wood to hug and kiss his daughter on the forehead.
"Dad, you look exhausted. You need to be easy with your body when you're working all day," Maki said with a look of worry on her face.
Her father sighed and rubbed the tip of her head, saying, "I understand you, my dear, but your father has to work hard to keep you happy every day."
Even Maki could tell her father was not having it easy and was struggling to make ends meet for them. Nonetheless, she still adored and loved her father so much and she did not bother about the circumstances surrounding them.
