After Stoxius displayed the ability of the Gannite crystals, everyone was intrigued to test them as well.
"Alright!! Now I'll pass the crystals to each of you, but be careful, they're fragile and expensive. And don't forget to concentrate your Mana into the crystal or nothing will happen and can leave you exhausted.", he instructed his class before handing out the crystals to each student.
Some students were able to achieve the color change on the first try, such as the likes of Damian; while others, like Jason, had to put in more effort to achieve this tiresome task, as Stoxius warned.
But something unusual happened that caught everyone by surprise.
Damian's crystal also changed color to yellow, but it got deeper in color and started making a really loud noise as it got deeper in color.
"Damian!! Throw it away! Now!!", a terrified Stoxius shouted at the kid and Damian immediately threw it as far away form the group.
The crystal then stopped making that loud noise and without warning, suddenly exploded and shattered into pieces.
Everyone thought Damian would get punished by their teacher but Stoxius was rather astonished.
"Incredible!!! This is the biggest development I've ever seen in my life as a mage! The Council will be interested in this for sure!!," Stoxius as he wrote into his journel.
There was only one reason for his excitement. And that was because Damian was a Gamma Class, a rare but valuable evolution known to anyone.

Usually because of their high affinity to Mana, accompanied with their fragility, individuals who decide to discover their Mana type using the Gannite crystals are strictly advised to have proper supervision when doing so.
This is because, in extreme cases, Gannite can absorb a lot of Mana from the person using it, which can be dangerous if not taken care.
Also, Gannite crystals only explode under two conditions:
* When the individual focuses too much Mana into it, as in the case of Damian, who evolved into a Gamma Class.
* When it reacts with the Cocktail Poison, an acidic liquid obtained from the venom of Fjord Beasts, and which reacts violently with Mana and as such, people are forbidden to keep personal collections of the volatile liquid.
