After Maki's damaging defeat to the Peregrine team, Jason was a bit pessimistic on whether he would be able to qualify to the final at all and just stood there, frozen in his thoughts.
But Vincent literally slapped him out of his deep thinking and Jason was not pleased at all.
"Ow!! Hey, what was that for?!," an upset Jason rumbled at his teammate.
Vincent then said -in a somehow saddened tone which surprised Jason, "I know it's hard watching Maki lose to that dude, but we've come way too far for you to slow down now!!"
"Do you think Maki would want you to give up now?!"
"I saw her face before she passed out and was sent to the infirmary. She was happy and seemed hopeful that we'll make it in her place," almost shedding a tear but he quickly wiped it off.
He then concluded, "So don't you dare back down from this fight!! Not even one bit!!"
That statement struck a glimmer of hope back into Jason and made him more composed.
Vincent then placed his hands on Jason's shoulders, took a deep breath and whispered, "Amplify."
"Huh??," was all Jason could say after Vincent's comment.
He explained, "That was a simple spell I added to help boost your abilities for at least an hour. That should be enough for your fight."
"Oh, I see," Jason replied, much to Vincent's liking who breathed a sigh of relief.
The third round was getting ready to begin and Jason was preparing to step into the arena.
But before he left, he looked back at Vincent, gave him a smile and thumbs up, and said, "Thanks for your help!! And don't forget, you're facing me in the final!!"
Vincent then smirked and gave a thumbs up back, replying, "Sure thing. Now go win this thing!!"
