"Andddd, he's gone." Liliana thinks to herself.
Due to the extreme fatigue Roman experienced when Liliana powered his attack, he fell unconscious -- leaving Liliana in charge of his body.
"Liliana, you're one of the craziest spirits I've come across..." Camila says, while laying flat on the ground.
"Get up young lady, you'll get your clothes dirty."
"Young lady? I know spirits live long lives but just how old are you?"
"Let's just say I was there when your bloodline began." Liliana says with a smirk.
Camila's jaw drops, "That has to be a joke, right?"
"Of course!! I'm not that old!" Liliana bursts out with sudden anger.
Camila frowns while picking herself up, "It's impossible to tell when your joking."
"I get that a lot."
Liliana and Camila return to the home. The training drained them, more specifically, Camila.
On the walk they chat about the progress they have made during these past ten days.
"With your power and his training ethic it makes for really fast improvement. My family would be quick to snatch him up." Camila says with a glower as they walk up the home's grandiose stair case.
"Your family, who are they? When I was paired with 10th King I knew of many strong families, in fact I was close to a few of them."
"If you were close with them I feel bad for you. They're ruthless to those without power. And to those with, well I'm sure you experienced their overwhelming love for you. I am from the Vin family."
Liliana ponders about the name for just a moment then comes to a realization, "Ah! The Vin family huh...they very powerful in my time. I'm sure that hasn't changed but the family head was power obsessed. Has the leader changed from that woman?"
"Yes, not too long ago. She lived for a long time. However, her daughter took over and she is just as crazy as her..." Camila's face is painted with clear discomfort.
"And what exactly is your relationship to this new leader?" Liliana asks, expecting a certain answer.
Camila hesitates for a moment and almost trips on her own foot while walking down the hall, "She's my...mother."
"I see, well let's continue this conversation later. I apologize for the sudden attack earlier by the way."
"It's ok. Thanks for the compliment." Camila says with a smile as she closes her door.
Liliana is left alone in the hallway until Sir Vaneer walks up the stairs.
"Madam Liliana?" He asks.
"Yes Vaneer?"
"The king requests your presence as soon as your available" Sir Vaneer says.
"May I ask why?"
"Things are heating up in Lanuae."
Liliana smiles wide, "Say no more!"
Sir Vaneer gives no response to Liliana's enthusiasm and hands her a green crystal. The one used to teleport, assumingly to the King's throne room.
Sir Vaneer bows and walks back down the stairs.
Liliana holds onto the crystal and walks to her room.
She sits on the bed and closes her eyes. If someone were to walk into the room, it would be a strange sight to see.
'Abandon the boy, kill the king's spirit and control him. Take over this place.' A voice speaks to Liliana.
"All these years and I still haven't rid myself of you huh?" Liliana says out loud to herself, or rather, the voice inside her head.
"You will never get rid of me, Morgen."
"Do not call me that."
"Morgen Morgen Morg-"
Liliana's eye's flash blue and a wave of power unleashes into the room.
The furniture shakes, a few things fall off the desks in the room, it looks like a small earthquake hit the room.
"HAHAHAHAH, you think THAT would push me away? You really have softened up since being with the King. It's disgusting." The voice rebuttals after Liliana's action
Liliana sighs. She ignores the voice and looks at the glimmering green crystal in her hands.
"Yes, take us to the king. Let's kill him right now."
Liliana laughs, "You're a fool. Nothing you say anymore affects me. You're nothing but a nuisance to me."
"Well, no need to be rude about it! I thi-" The voice gets cut off by Liliana.
"Stop TALKING." Liliana shouts. Her eyes are almost rays of blue light, her power is bursting at the seams of Roman's body.
Not a peep can be heard from the antagonizing voice.
Liliana looks down at the crystal once more and crushes it.
She disappears from the room. Just on the opposite side of the door, Camila can be seen with a confused look on her face.
'Just what are you Liliana?' She thinks to herself
~~~
King Alain sits atop his throne. He patiently waits for his esteemed visitor.
Liliana suddenly appears in front of him, as she does, a smile appears on his face.
"Madam Liliana! I've been waiting for you, I have news." The King exclaims.
"Speak away." Liliana tells him.
"Things in Lanuae are starting to grow out of control. I'm hearing about revolts, a revolution is on its way. If your boy wants to find out anything about the King, now is his final chance."
Liliana crosses her arms. It's an old habit she developed while being with the King.
"I see, though, I don't think he is ready to face any real enemies yet, let alone the King of a country." Liliana says while thinking hard to herself.
'This is his is only lead, his only chance to find out what happened...my only chance to find an explanation for everything that has happened to him. Even if that's the case, he's not ready. I may be able to fight for him but I can't do it forever. It's a weakness we can't afford to have.' Liliana thinks to herself.
"I know it's a hard choice. However, if I may I can offer some assistance. Sir Vaneer has told me you two have bonded quite well with his maid. You may take her if she accepts the offer, I hear she is quite the fighter. As well as her, I can offer you this." As the King finishes his sentence he snaps his fingers and a woman walks into the room carrying a gauntlet.
The gauntlet has intricate patterns carved into it. It's silver surface reflects a beam of sunshine coming in through the rooms window. In the palm of the gauntlet the symbol of Noctis lays.
"I haven't seen this in a long time..." Liliana says with nostalgia.
"A weapon of old. It's abilities are perfect for the type of mission Roman must go on. The ability to hide and the ability to communicate. I'm sure you know how to use these powers. When Roman wakes, explain to him how to use it. It will be of great use to your group if you choose to go to Lanuae." The King says. His position as king is evident through the way he commands those around him.
"A weapon of the Fonia. You say a weapon of old, the Fonia are no longer?" Liliana asks.
"Yes, they were dissolved a few years ago due to their animalistic nature. I deemed them too barbaric for Noctis. Though, their weapons were too valuable to completely erase. It seems keeping them was a good decision."
Liliana tuts at the king, "I would argue on their behalf but there is some truth to your statement. Anyways, there is no time I assume? I've made up my mind, we are going to Lanuae. When will we depart and how will we get there?"
"We will use a spirit teleporter to get you near the Lanuae. The rest of the way you will have to travel by foot, as teleporting any closer would reveal our location to them. The King is a secretive man, his kingdom is surprisingly protected, from the outside at least. From where you will be teleported, it should only take 1 day of travel to get to Lanuae. You may take an hour to two to get ready. Come back to this room when you are ready."
Liliana nods and as she does she feels herself lose control of Roman's body.
Roman's eyes return to their normal hazel color and he begins looking around the room, confused.
The King sits still, slowly figuring out what's happening, 'The boy is back.' He thinks to himself.
Roman looks around the room until he finds himself linking eyes with the King.
A deep anger begins to boil within him for a moment, until he instinctively calms himself down. The training Liliana put him through was showing. He was in control.
The King walks down from his throne, keeping eye contact with Roman the whole time. He stops just a few steps away from Roman and extends his hand for a handshake with a smile. It's eerily similar to what he did when they first met.
"I think we got off on the wrong foot young man, my name is King Alain, yours?"
