Grandfather perkily gazed at Ron.
"If you are determined and can work harder than the others, then you will be stronger than others. Prove your talent to the clan by becoming the winner of the Clan Youth Contest" grandfather Robert spoke with expectation.
It seems that his grandfather Robert wanted Ron to display his strength and talent in front of everyone by winning the Youth Contest.
At the end of every year, the Boris Clan holds a clan competition called Youth Contest for the younger generation where the young people within a specific age group of the Boris clan were allowed to spar with each other as a learning experience.
The winner obtains a huge amount of cultivation resources.
Such a huge amount of resources can help the younger generation breakthrough to the Energy condensation realm.
The elders of a clan from the Green plum city are in the Energy condensation stage.
In the Boris clan, the Clan chief and grandfather Robert are the only core formation experts. Clan chief Bigil is an Early stage Mortal core realm cultivator.
Core formation is classified into Mortal core, heaven core and Divine core realms with each realm divided further into early, Mid and late stages and so a total of nine stages in core formation realm..
As the Chief Commander and a powerful cultivator of the Seven cranes kingdom, he was an Early Heaven core realm expert along with the King of the kingdom, King Thomas.
Grandfather Robert was actually way stronger than the clan chief but not really interested in the clan affairs. He wanted a military life in his early years and thus joined the military.
Later, he made great contributions by winning wars for the kingdom as a general and further helped the late king (King Thomas's father) in expanding the Kingdom.
He became the Hero of the Seven Cranes kingdom.
Thus the late king promoted him as the Chief Commander of the military for his remarkable contributions to the Kingdom.

There was still three months from now until the Clan Youth Contest, and three months was enough for him to breakthrough to the Energy condensation realm.
Ron could not help but laugh sinisterly thinking of beating Louis so brutally that even his father, the Grand elder would not be able to recognise his own son.
If possible, Ron wanted to kill Louis but he knew that he cannot break the clan rules. Nobody was allowed to kill their opponents as it was a sparing competition.
As an assassin in his previous life, the present world was more attractive to him.
The present world was based on the strength and there were very fewer limitations for him to kill his enemies whereas, in the previous world earth, it was more peaceful but more rules and regulations to maintain law and order.
He always felt that the previous world rules to govern people were made by the rich to control the weak. The rich had a higher chance to win legally by hiring powerful lawyers and influencing others with money or threat.
But in this world, a weak person only had to cultivate to become stronger and then take revenge and none would react unless a stronger cultivator was on his opposite side.
After leaving the main hall, he returned to his room. He sat down on the bed and then decided to enter the first region of the Vital world in the pearl.
He started absorbing the spiritual energy of the world according to his Devouring Phoenix cultivation technique.

The grand elder Antony informed the servant to mention his visit to the Clan Chief. He waited patiently while the servant went in to inform the Clan chief.
After a while, the servant returned and brought the Grand elder to the main hall of the Clan Chief's dwelling and left. Soon, Clan Chief appeared in the hall.
"Son, what brings you to my humble dwelling?" asked Bigil with care and affection in his voice.
Grand elder Antony laughed while paying respect "Should I call you uncle or ...… dad?"
"When there are others present, call me uncle whereas when we are alone, it feels good to hear you call me dad" replied the Clan chief Bigil.
Actually, Antony was not his brother's son. Antony was born out of illicit relation between Clan chief Bigil and his sister-in-law.
After the death of his raised father (Bigil's brother), Antony was informed by his mother about his biological father.
"Dad, I am here to ask a favour from you. Louis is your second grandson and he just awakened a fifth grade martial spirit, a martial spirit that none in the clan history ever had."
Bigil happily replied "Yes, I know. I am extremely pleased with him. I am happy to have a grandson like him. But what do you want?"
"Dad, as you may know that the entrance test for the Profound sect begins in two months. With a fifth grade martial spirit, Louis will get a direct admission to the outer court of the Profound sect without attending the outer court exam."
"To enter the inner court, one must have a cultivation base of the sixth stage of the Body tempering realm and above and qualify the inner court assessment exam. But a person with a fifth grade martial spirit only needs a cultivation of fifth stage and so he would be admitted directly to the inner court on the basis of talent. I want Louis to enter the inner court of the profound sect and not waste his time in the outer court."
Clan chief Bigil was confused "I have no influence or say in the assessment exam of a sect, especially Profound sect which is one of the top three sects in the seven cranes kingdom".
"Dad, I know that. I am asking you to help your grandson Louis attain the fifth stage of the Body tempering realm in two months so that he can join the inner sect directly by opening the energy pool of the clan for him to cultivate."
Bigil was rubbing his forehead engrossed in deep thinking.
He lamented "With his fifth grade spirit, he was placed first in the testing ceremony. So he already has the right to enter the energy pool since the top three are permitted once to cultivate in it. It will be extremely difficult for Louis to cultivate to the fifth stage within two months even with energy pool."
"Dad, he won't reach the fifth stage if he cultivated within the energy pool with the other two. But the energy of the pool is sufficient for him to reach the fifth stage if he cultivated alone."
Bigil shook his head "No, I cannot allow that. The energy pool can only be opened once every three years so that the top three talented kids of the clan testing ceremony can absorb the energy accumulated in the pool for the past three years. If Louis cultivates alone, the other two kids would never have a chance to use the pool."
"Dad, please do it for me as I never asked you for anything. Louis is your grandson and he needs your support."
Bigil sighed "Elders of the clan would be angered after knowing this decision. I can still deal with the other elders but how can I make elder Robert accept it? He is stronger than me and so, I won't be able to force him".
Grand elder Antony grinned "Dad, I have already convinced most of the elders and they would also support your decision. Elder Robert might be a strong cultivator but his weakness is that he follows the rules blindly and he never breaks them."
"Dad, since you are the Clan chief, your decision is the foremost and the elders of the clan have to follow it. Only when the majority of the elders decides against your decision, only then the decision of the Chief can be changed. But we have the support of most of the elders. Thus, Elder Robert has to follow your decision."
Clan chief Bigil grinned "Fine, we will do as you said".
Grand elder Antony was glad and grateful to gain the support of his dad, the Chief of the clan.
At Ron's dwelling....
As Ron began his practice using the cultivation technique, his martial spirit, the Devouring Phoenix appeared above his head.
It opened its beaks and started devouring the surrounding spiritual energy at a horrifying speed as if it was hungry.
The spiritual energy of Heaven and earth from the surroundings entered the pearl as Ron cultivated within it.
The spiritual energy devoured by the Devouring phoenix martial spirit flowed into Ron's body, entered the meridians and travelled through the energy circulation paths gradually transforming it into his own energy.
Soon, he felt the barrier preventing him from breakthrough into the next realm.
Just as he was planning to crush that barrier, Phoenix spoke "Wait, kiddo."
Ron wanted to know why Grandpa Phoenix prevented him from breaking the barrier of cultivation.
"Kiddo, it is extremely difficult for a cultivator to fight someone with a higher cultivation within the same realm. But it does not prevent those geniuses from the powerful clans and sects from doing it."
"They can fight and even possibly kill those of higher cultivation using different means like practising body cultivation, use of bloodline or powerful high grade attack and movement martial techniques etc."
"Practising such techniques or using the bloodlines are common to those geniuses from the powerful forces but there is something which is even rare to obtain and extremely difficult even for them."
Ron was amazed.

Dear friends, I know some of my friend readers are disappointed due to not publishing any chapters for the past few days. I and my family decided to quarantine ourselves as we suffered from Covid-19. The guest home where we quarantine ourselves have no internet facility and I do not have my laptop with me to publish the saved chapters to move it to the phone to publish.
