"Go ace it!" Felicia's voice came in through the headphones. I laughed, and she did too but that didn't shake my uneasy and jitters. I wasn't over Warren's visit and not sure I ever will be. I had dreams of us as children before Veronica's death tore us apart. It was supposed to build us up but Warren wasn't ready to go with the train.
"Thank you Felicia," I said.
"When you're back, I left a surprise for you."
"Are you saying?" I asked.
"Not a chance. I've been learning to hide surprises," she said smugly. It was amusing that I couldn't help it.

My mother and myself were on our way to San Francisco, two towns over with a total travelling time of 3 hours from our location. We were on the Exit route out of town.
