The doctor and nurse on duty had agreed to my stay, though not in Warren's room but I found it alright as long as I close to him. My parents arrived with a bag, containing a change of clothes, toothbrush and paste, sandwiches, my water bottle and added a family picture of all 5 of us together.
Until that frame made contact with my hand, I realised I had forgotten all about family and what it meant until I was going to lose my brother.
I wrapped the blanket around myself, the frame in my hands. I had fallen asleep to find my little sister dancing in a field of daisies. I rushed over to her but she was gone by the time I had gotten there.
"Come Gabe," she beckoned but wasn't there. I searched around and eventually found her in Warren's arms. They smiled at each other and then at me.
"Come brother," Warren said. I went over to him, taking the hand he stretched out.
"Be good while I'm gone," Veronica said. "You're all each other have, apart from mum and dad."
