Kurou's POV
I was running, running as fast as I could, barely even taking a second to look back, I couldn't remember anything other than that I woke up, laid flat in the middle of the village, and of course the destruction of my village. Right now, the only thing on my mind was getting away from those damn demon slayers. And as I ran, I suddenly felt tears begin to rush down my cheeks. I had thought that today would've been normal. That it would've just been another day in the village. That I would train with Kaira, go on a patrol, anything. Just for everything to be normal. What good that turned about to be…
I'd lost the village to the very people I've been trying to keep it away from; I've been beaten by them. But worst of all, I had accused Kaira, the only parent figure I had ever had left, of betraying me. Now Kaira was dead. I could never ask for his forgiveness ever again. I screamed out into the air in anguish as I ran, not caring who heard me. I could barely contain my screams. Everyone I had ever tried to protect was now gone…
I had walked through the forest for what had felt like hours now. Hours since I had just left the house. Hours since I had left the village to slay demons, only to meet that man on the way. Hours since my village was destroyed by Hellzone corps, and since I had lost everything. It was all so confusing. It felt like I had just suddenly entered a bad dream, one I had no hope of waking up from. It was like I was walking a never ending nightmare, only this nightmare was reality. A nightmare called reality.
I thought about Kaira, wondering what could've happened to him in the midst of all that chaos. He was probably able to handle himself, but it couldn't have been for long though. I thought about the black clothed man as I walked and clenched the hilt of a growing flame sword in my hand. Out of rage, I sliced away a tree branch in my path and continuing to walk. This was all HIS fault, and I made sure not to leave the blue haired one out of this either.
If they never came, those strange people would've never came. I still had to wonder, 'Why did that other group come to our village anyway? They must've had a bigger reason for attacking us, and they seemed too sophisticated not to have a reason.' I didn't know if I would ever cross paths with that group again, but I swore to myself I would do everything in my power to completely demolish them. My hate for them was now equal, if not stronger than the hatred and contempt I held for Hellzone corps.
All of a sudden, a pillar of dark, black demonic energy erupted from the ground. I was forced to jump back from the blast, my eyes widening as a muscular arm with a black gauntlet pulled itself from the bottom of the pillar. What came out afterwards appeared to be a very large, bulky figure with pitch black armor covering its entire body. It had white ashen hands with very sharp claws, spaulders white spikes jolting out of them, and a helmet with very long curved horns could be seen. No mistake about it. This demon was an A-class, and was very powerful one compared to the ranks below them.
A-class demons sometimes served as commanders of entire armies of demonic soldiers between C and some B-class rank demons, so I didn't understand why was one here. I silently cursed myself. Back in the village, whatever had happened against that man before caused me to lose possession of my sword. I could rely on my flames, but for just how long? The demon let out a laugh as I glared at it. "HAHAHAHAHA!!! So it seems you're the cambion that has been causing trouble for us," said the demon heartily. There was that word again: cambion.
I didn't understand. Why did everyone think I was a cambion? I certainly showed no signs of being a demon, even if I was fairly powerful for a villager. I glared at the demon even harder as I cocked back my fists, green flames swirling around it, forming into a gauntlet of fire. "I. Am. NOT! A! CAMBION!!!!" I screamed in defiance, rushing at the demon with all the speed I could muster, and swung hard at it.
As I got close, the demon, with startling speed, had moved its arm up faster than I could see and took hold of my arm in an instant, clenching it, easily dispersing my flames. "You truly believe so spawn? Then tell me. Why do you have hellfire!?" it shouted out loudly, clenching its fist and plowing it into my chest. I coughed up blood when the fist rammed into me with the force of a train and I was sent flying far, slamming through multiple trees, crashing into the ground.
My eyes narrowed. 'I should've known it would be too reckless to just charge at it like that,' I thought, spitting out more blood onto the ground, trying to cover my mouth, only to see the blood coming out was… green. My eyes then widened. Looking at the green substance in my hand I wondered, 'How do I have green blood… no, since WHEN did I ever have blood of this color?' Before I could question this strange feature of my body further, the sound of something stomping towards me caught my attention. I looked up quickly to see the demon instantly towering over my body, bringing down its axe.
Quickly creating two katanas in my hands out of green flames and blocked with both, I slid them across the blade of the axe as I quickly stood, then slashed hard across its chest. What gushed forth from its body would forever haunt me: Green blood. It was darker than my own, but it didn't change the fact that it virtually looked almost exactly the same as my own. And the thought of it- this demon before me- being remotely connected to me in some way… was just revolting.
I didn't even pay attention to the slash across my chest done by the demon soon after my attack. Even more green blood gushed right out of my chest. It was all I could pay attention to at the moment. Next came a monstrously hard kick to my chest, immediately snapping me out of it as the intense pain rung throughout my body like an electric shock. I roared in agony, being I was sent hurdling through the air again, smashing right through the hard, thick bark of the trees.
I held out my hand again, a green ball of flames gathered in my hand weakly, only to disperse futilely. I growled as I made the same attempt again only for it to fizzle out once more. In that time, the A-class, with a loud laugh full of malice, began to barrage me with even more attacks than before, not even bothering to use its weapon this time. I made a covering out of green flames around my body to lessen the pain. It didn't exactly do me much good with how weak it was.
Since the demon was already stronger than me, I still felt the full force of the punches. The flames immediately broke from the contact of each punch hammered into me with the force of a speeding car, and I was sure I felt some bones breaking. He sent another attack to my chest and I was sent sliding back. I watched as the demon continued to laugh, rushing at me while covered in a large torrent of smoky, black energy.
Somehow, I managed to find the strength to hold out my hands, covering them in gauntlets of green flame. The demon slammed into me. With nothing but my arms to hold it back, my attempt to stop it only seemed to prove futile as I was pushed back with ease through the forest. The energy around the demon suddenly began to run up my arms fast, beginning to cover my entire body. Out of instinct and a bit of fear, I punched the demon, somehow managing to send it flying back from me. It quickly planted its feet to the ground as it fell onto a knee.
Its energy gone from its body, I began to thrash around violently as the energy began to crawl all over my body, feeling as if this energy meant to poison me somehow, only for something different to suddenly occur. Strangely, the smoky, pitch-black energy wasn't hurting me at all. Rather, it was materializing something over my body. A few seconds later, the energy morphed itself into a sleek, black metal plating, covering my entire body with bronze lining lacing it. Covering me from head to toe was now pitch-black and bronze armor with clawed gauntlets, and a cloak seemingly made from shadows, obscuring some of it from view, not only that, but I could have sworn my wounds were healed. I raised an arm to look at the set of armor now equipped to my body with wide eyes. "How.. did I…?" I started, only to suddenly hear a loud crash.
I looked behind myself to see the demon with its fist smashed into the earth, trembling with anger. "Insolent abomination…" it hissed with great scorn in it's voice as it got up angrily. The demon marched toward me menacingly. "You dare to twist my energy and use it for your own!?" it screamed, now rushing toward me. I quickly made a move to jump out of the way as it swung its axe at me, the axe smashing into the ground with a loud crash, leaving great damage where I avoided it.
Not only did I receive new equipment, but it seemed to replenish my strength as good as new. Deciding to save the confusion for later, I took advantage of my newfound strength and used it. A black pentagram formed under my feet, sending me launching towards the demon with incredible speed. Seeing what I could do, I held out my hand to the side and a pitch black sphere of demonic energy formed into my hand. An energy spike violently jutted out as part of the sphere became what seemed to be a handle, soon becoming thicker as it extended more to create a blade shape. A greatsword with a thick onyx blade with a black hilt that had crimson red wrapping around it had appeared in my hand. I gripped the handle with my other hand as well and sent a fierce overhead slash at the demon.
Seemingly shocked, it swung its axe and both of our weapons clashed, creating a shockwave that blew some of the trees with such force, they instantly cracked in half. I began slashing wildly at the demon with anger, thirsty for revenge. My slashes were quite fast despite wielding such a hefty weapon. It was thanks to old man Kaira's weight training that I was able to wield weapons of this weight so easily, only now did I see the true value in it. The A-class was forced to go on the defensive, blocking my strikes and losing its grip a few times on its own weapon.
Looking desperately for an opening, the demon slashed at my side. I quickly brought the greatsword to the side with one hand and blocked. The force from the attack kicked up a large amount of dirt that smashed through a large array of trees. "H-How can this be!? You are a mere half-breed!! A mongrel! I, an elite being, should not be defeated this easi-" I interrupted before it could finish its sentence. Sliding my greatsword across the blade of its axe and with an upward slash, I cut across it's chest.
Deep green blood spurted out of the large wound. The demon let out a gurgling scream of pain and rage, slashing down hard at me with its axe in a shadowy burst of black energy. I teleported out of the way as it's axe smashed into the ground, creating a very large cloud of smoke. "I am a proud member of the demon armada!!" the demon screamed out, bringing down its axe again, releasing a very large wave of black, shadow-like energy rushing toward me.
I engulfed my entire body in black shadowy flames, sending a counter slash at the wave. My greatsword pierced through the wave, completely cutting it into two, the halves rocketing through the forest, destroying whatever came in their wake. The demon leaped out from the smoke into the air, crashing into the ground right in front of me. "I refuse to be defeated!! Especially by half-breed scum!!!" it screamed out in rage, its body and weapon sparking and bursting with destructive pitch-black energy, slashing at me with its axe, using all the strength it had leftover.
I slashed hard at the demon as well. The minute our weapons touched, my greatsword had torn through the blade of the axe like a hot knife cutting through butter. It didn't stop there, even cutting right through the demon, my body appearing right behind it as I cut through its body. The upper half of the A-class's body slowly slid before finally falling to the ground with a loud clang, the lower half of its body falling back soon after.
I examined the new gear on my body forged from my now fallen enemy. 'Just how the hell did I do that? One minute, I was fighting a losing battle. The next, I used its own energy against it…' I thought, though the fact remained… I really was a cambion. Humans couldn't harness demonic energy. The fact that I was literally wearing A-class demon armor and used the energy from it- without being affected in any negative way- proved that.
I looked at the greatsword in my hand before suddenly willing it to disappear. As if disintegrating, black flames slowly burned a trail over the sword, slowly turning it to nothing. Even if it was gone from my hands now, I could still feel its presence inside my body. I turned my attention to the A-class demon's disintegrating body, revealing a sphere of black energy even more pitch black than it's own armor. Its core, I was guessing, or to be more precise, its soul. It had nowhere to go and it was currently dormant, meaning it would stay until the soul either rotted away, was absorbed, or brought back to hell.
I had never gotten the chance to examine a demon soul up close before, despite the many demons I killed. Demons would usually harvest the souls and deliver them back to hell before I had the chance. Yet, here I was now, alone, with the chance to see one up close. I carefully walked toward the ball of energy and leaned my head toward it, looking at it so close up it made me feel as if I was staring into a void.
I decided to try something risky, and poked at the sphere. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt me. It simply wobbled from the touch. I grabbed the sphere, now curious about it, holding it in my hand, then squeezed the ball-like core. It was like a rubber bouncing ball, or that's what it felt like. Black energy sparked around it before it suddenly started to form, interest storming in my mind at how flexibly it began to shape. I squeezed on it harder as it started to make a pole shape.
I grabbed the other end of the pole, stretched it, the length of it increasing and pulled downwards at the end of it, making a curved shape. The energy around it suddenly ripped violently from the shape, leaving a pitch black battleaxe in its place. The pole of the battleaxe was a dark grey with crimson lettering across it in a language I could not understand, and the blade was simply pitch black with a shadow-like energy blade at the bottom. As I looked at the grey lettering on the pole, it suddenly began to slowly change into english lettering. When the lettering was fully translated, it all spelled this name, Kagrasia. This was apparently the name of the demon I had slain. I didn't understand. First, I absorb energy and turn it into armor, and the next, I have turned a demon's soul… into a soul weapon. I remembered the soul weapon Karrian, the story of how a man defeated the extremely evil being it once was, and formed it into that weapon. It was just like what I did just now, wasn't it?
I suddenly couldn't help but smile as my arms trembled with Kagrasia still in my hands. Not with fear, but with happiness. Being a cambion was starting to feel more like a blessing than a curse. If I could do this, I might just have a chance of destroying the group that destroyed my life. It was today that I had decided I would travel to the nearest village, train myself, kill more demons and collect more soul weapons… but most of all, I would do everything in my power to annihilate the group that forever ruined my life.
It had been a few hours since I set my goal, and I was now headed to Kagura village. It was one of the villages closest to mine, and, also, the most trustworthy considering old man Kaira was friends with the chief of the village. As I walked, a horde of demons suddenly appeared all around me. All were B through C-classes. Most of them were B-ranks, however; the usual kind I'd face throughout the village. I smirked a little. After converting the soul of the demon I faced earlier, I had begun to train in: physical power, magic power, speed; there was not one thing I dared to leave out of place in my training.
During that time, I'm sure I had become much stronger. Now was the time to test my theory, and maybe gain another one of those soul weapons if I could. I planned on even converting the soul of a C-class demon. It was obvious that it wouldn't be as useful as a B or an A-class would be, but simply using only those types would just make me grow complacent, and that was one thing I wanted to avoid.
I summoned a katana made out of flames as one of the C-classes charged at me right on schedule. With a swift, hard slash, I easily cut through their body, slicing it in half. Unfortunately, this in turn caused the core to disappear. I cursed myself, realizing I would have to try and not go overkill on these freaks. More C-classes charged at me once again. I teleported into the middle of the group, then with a fast rotation of my body, I cut every demon around me, the demon bodies disintegrating as each one was skewered by my blade.
Luckily, one of the souls of the C-class demons had survived; on the other hand, a B-class had snuck up behind me, brandishing a dark red long sword, slashing at me hard with it. I easily blocked, then knocked it back with a horizontal slash. I gritted my teeth as I watched a squadron of C-classes go to collect one the souls of the other C-classes I had disposed of. Almost possessively, I appeared instantly above them with bloodlust in my eyes, pointing my sword of hellfire at them before firing off an inferno of green flames forth from it. The blast burned them all to a crisp when it crashed into them. The C-class soul had surprisingly survived the blast, despite being in such close range of my hellfire. I could definitely tell this C-class weapon might be more useful than I thought.
As I landed to the ground gracefully, I gripped the C-class demon core, forming the hilt before pressing my fingers on a part of it and stretching it out into a blade shape. As the energy ripped away from the now shapen core, a chartreuse yellow uchigatana blade mixed with silvery designs on it was shown, sparking with yellow electricity around it.
The expression of the B-class that had attacked me earlier twisted with rage, red energy exploding around it's body, and it rushed towards me angrily. I met the slash with the C-class weapon in my hand, the air rippling from the force. The name of it, Rados. I then knocked the demon back again, teleporting, appearing behind it and slashed downward with my blade, releasing a gigantic ark of yellow energy at it, completely destroying its body.
I began to walk toward the rest of the group, electricity dancing around me. My clothes, eye color and even my hair become yellow, as well as gauntlets and greaves with small Citrine colored gems embedded in them. They were Soul Gems, similar to the kind Karrian had, and only a unique soul could actually have soul gems. I had definitely made the right choice when picking this C-class weapon.
I suddenly disappeared in a flash of energy. The demons looked around frantically before I suddenly rushed at them from a random spot. One of the other B-class demons quickly teleported to my area and parried my strike, but not for long. With extreme speed, my sword covered with fierce electricity, I slashed at the demon in various parts of their body, blood gushing out of multiple areas of them as they fell to a knee.
I pointed my sword right in the demon's face and fired off a lightning bolt at it at point blank, instantly sending it flying and crashing through a large multitude of trees. The remaining C-classes pointed their weapons at me, firing flames, water and other hellish versions of the elements toward me. I deflected the flames with Rados and cut through the water, then ran up a large wall of earth as it tried to block my way, leaping in the air, only for multiple B-classes to appear in the air, their wings drawn. They rushed down towards me with their weapons.
I spun in the air at high speed, appearing as a spinning wheel of lightning, slicing through each demon I rushed at. One of the last demons was a C-class; however, this one had power overflowing its body, the energy beginning to engulf its body as it thrashed around. Admiral blue flames suddenly exploded from it, completely obscuring its body from view and exploded around it, rising into the air fiercely.
I smirked. This was just the B-class I needed, but the scene before me also shocked me. I had never seen a demon ascend before, and none of the others ever showed this much raw power. I could tell it was easily above them in power now. A blade shape suddenly had vaguely appeared through the flames and slashed at them, tearing through them.
The demon, now having a humanoid appearance, appeared, its skin a dark grey. It had cold, icy blue eyes, sleek cobalt blue armor with black fur laced over it and its royal blue mantle. As for the weapon, it was a large tsurugi sword. The blue of the blade was so dark that it almost could be seen as black, and the hilt had white stripes around it. I grinned as I entered my battle stance.
The demon held a strange stance, holding a reverse grip on the blade, its hand slightly above its head as the sword was hung downward in its hand. It gripped it tightly before suddenly rushing at me skillfully with its sword reared back. I reared Rados back as well, sending a hard slash at the demon. It slashed back as a counter, the strength behind our slashes clashing, causing a shockwave that began to uproot some trees. I had to admit that this battle was harder than I expected.
I had to wonder why it was this much harder for me. Then again, I remembered the fact that I had only won against Kagrasia because of the fact I absorbed his power. It made sense that I would have a harder time using a weaker weapon against a demon above that rank. Putting that thought aside, however, I focused on the battle at hand. Such thoughts could be thought about later.
I barraged the demon with many lightning strikes. It did the same with strikes covered in dark energy, our blades constantly clashing. I suddenly grabbed the demon with my gauntlet, the soul gem inside flashed with a bright yellow light before, suddenly, flaxen energy covered it, beginning to shock it intensely. The demon screamed in pain, attempting to gather its strength, and grabbed the blade of Rados. Then, with tremendous power, threw me away, sending me flying.
I quickly teleported as I flew in the air, appearing behind it with blinding speed. I slashed at it. However, it blocked just in time. I began to angrily slash at the B-class, trying the best I could to incapacitate it. Despite this, it was no use as it just seemed to block every slash I threw at it effortlessly. In a speed I couldn't follow fast enough, it sent a slash at me, and an X shaped cut gushed blood from my body as I screamed in pain falling on a knee. I didn't even see its second slash. I gritted my teeth as I got back up, electricity surging all around my body and I sent multiple golden lightning bolts towards it.
It deflected quite a bit as it ran at me, getting close to me before I suddenly grinned. And, while it didn't expect it, I shot a golden energy blast right in its chest at point blank. Knowing that wouldn't be enough to finish it off, I sheathed Rados into its scabbard. I got into a running start next as the yellow soul gems on my greaves and gauntlets began to glow very brightly. Bolting towards the demon, I appeared right by it almost instantaneously. The B-class, as if expecting this, charged its own energy as well and we both began to move at extreme speeds. Anyone else in the vicinity would've thought we had suddenly become invisible. Small, but destructive shockwaves resounded throughout multiple areas of the forest as we dealt blow after blow to each other, creating craters in the ground and even obliterating some of the trees within.
The demon slashed its Tsurugi at me with incredible speed and precision, forcing me to block some of its slashes with my gauntlets. It suddenly covered its entire body in flames, its entire body was now coated in an inferno of admiral blue flames. It slashed at me with its tsurugi again. This time, the slash let loose a gigantic ark of blue flames with it, burning the ground fiercely and everything in its path.
My eyes widened as the blazing flames slammed into my body, burning through everything behind me. Strangely, rather than hot, the hellfire was freezing cold. And yet, they still had the same disintegrating effect any flames would, and scorched my body with many burn marks. I had finally collided into a large rock wall, the rock being destroyed with ease. Coughing as I fell off the rock, I spit up green blood onto the ground. I suddenly looked around me and noticed the midnight blue flames blazing around me furiously.
Out of the blue, I grinned and held out my arm, willing the flames to come towards it and they all began spiraling, becoming a twister shape, swirling around my arm. Slamming the flames onto my shoulder and slowly ran them across, letting them form, I looked through the smoke, glaring. My eyes followed the demon rushing at me with a fast slash. I blocked its incoming strike. Its eyes widened to see a dark blue spaulder made out of its own energy. The shape of it resembled a frozen dragon head structure on my left shoulder.
I smirked at the demon's shocked expression. "My turn," I said with bloodlust in my voice. This had to end now. I charged demonic energy into the draconic spaulder. The jaws of the frozen dragon head suddenly opened up and it released shining azure flames that began to burst from the mouth of it, blasting behind me, sending me rushing at the demon with extreme mobility and speed. I sent a punch that smashed right into its face, creating a shockwave as it was sent flying, its body not stopping even as it tore through many trees.
The demon had finally slammed hard into the ground with a loud crack. Even from where I was, I could tell it had broken many bones in its body. As it got up, its eyes twisted into slits, glaring at me with rage. It rushed at me, creating a crater where it stood. Blue flames spiked around its Tsurugi, creating an extended blade of blue hellfire around it. It sent a hard diagonal slash at me, only for me to block with the spaulder. The dragon head twisted around and blasted a concentrated inferno of azure icy flames at the demon, sending it flying and crashing into the ground once more.
I had finally decided it was time to end this and began to charge my demonic energy. A yellow aura of electricity formed around my body as well as the blue flames bursting around my body. Each spark from the aura only becoming more and more unstable as the aura around me grew larger, and the flames had grown so large to the point they almost resembled the flames of a rocket blasting off.
By the time I had finished, my aura exploded around me, already about the height of the trees all around us. They sparked and burned trails all around me volatilely. The demon looked at my towering aura fearfully, charging its own with a battle cry. Its aura in the form of dark midnight blue flames, streams of it rose around its body uncontrollably. The flames began to shine around it, making the demon now resemble an ancient spirit.
We both slowly entered battle stances, the demon rearing its Tsurugi back as it crouched down. I got in a running start with my sword pointed forward while we both glared at each other. The minute we ran, tremendous shockwaves sounded behind us. My speed boosted from my draconic spaulder and I roared with rage. The demon did the same. And as soon as we got close to each other, the demon stabbed its sword forward, both the tips of Rados and its tsurugi clashed. We both roared out as our auras grew to colossal sizes. The minute we clashed, a maelstrom of raw demonic power filled the area in which we fought, closing in on itself.
The combined demonic energy suddenly burst high into the air like a pillar, many trees being uprooted from the power of the shockwave it caused. The pillar began to slowly shrink as we both breathed heavily. There was smoke everywhere, and yet, we could still see our own bodies through it. When it had cleared enough, I could see that the B-class was heavily injured, blood everywhere on its body. Its hair was unruly and most of its armor was now completely shattered. It breathed heavily before falling to the ground, its body disintegrating, the wind blowing.
I had to admit, for a B-class demon, it was definitely tenacious. I never expected it to be able to injure me this much. Green blood was all over my clothes and bare arms as well. I could tell it would take some time to regenerate, maybe quite a few hours, but I paid the pain no mind as I looked at the flaming, metallic- looking demonic soul core hovering in front of me. It had blue markings in a demonic language I could not understand, similar to Kagrasia. I gripped the core, already forming the hilt, then grabbed a part above it with my whole hand to stretch it, forming a large blade. The flames had dissipated off of the blade structure to form a very large, dark blue tsurugi spear in my hand with a black handle aligned with blue stripes. While the blade was a royal blue, the bottom part of it was slightly bigger than the top part of the weapon, but it mostly looked similar to the sword of the B-class I had beaten.
Suddenly, a small slither of blue flames ran across the blue blade, forming the name, Xhanaru. It was an interesting name, but fitting. I dissipated the spear into nothingness. Continuing along, I walked throughout the vast forest. That is… until I felt a sharp, quick pain pierce throughout my body. I barely had time to register the source of such pain, and everything went black. I could feel a tug on my clothes, my body feeling like it was being pulled off. Whatever was in store for me- where I was going- I wasn't sure whether I should consider it for the better or worse…
Unknown POV
I simply watched the two men in front of me squirmed in agony as they stood, tied to the two stone pillars by black chains, glowing eerily with dark energy. "I will ask you again. Where is he?" I asked in a calm, but demanding tone. I had been interrogating these two for about a few hours now, and I could already tell by their expressions that, somehow, there was still burned opposition in their eyes. They continued to glare at me furiously.
"We already fucking told you before… we don't know what you're talking about!" the man before me nearly screamed. My expression had remained unchanged as I increased the tightening of the chains around their bodies. Small amounts of blood spurt out through multiple parts of their bodies, the men screaming out like wild pigs. I stopped, one of the men now breathing as hard as he could while the other threw up a large amount of blood. I walked towards one of them and grabbed him by the neck, slamming him into the pillar.
"I will have you know here and now that it is a very bad idea to lie to me in your current position. I know about your village's little history of harboring a cambion, and how you allowed the demon that spawned it to live there. Knowing that information, I sincerely doubt you would have 'no idea' as to where this cambion could've escaped to," I said with a hint of disdain in my voice. The man only glared at me with fury.
"Go to hell… cambion or not, he is still a child, and deserves to live as one should… not that you would bother to understand the significance of that," spat out the man with pure hatred. I said nothing in response. Maybe it was out of jealousy that the words actually hurt me, like a pinch, but it also added wood to the fire that was burning inside.
I then heard the other individual elicit a bitter, raspy laugh. "You people are all the same… the second you lay your eyes on something you can't comprehend, the only solution in your eyes is to cast it out. Heh heh heh… that boy will someday become your demise, and the eye opener of this wretched world, I guarantee it," the man spoke. He continued to laugh more until I increased the pressure on the chains.
"Eye opener… what a contradiction, considering your people's eyes have long since been closed," I said as the pressure of the chains increased even more. Blood gushed everywhere from their bodies before they had finally gave out and died. I had sighed. I was hoping to gain info on the cambion of Kumara village. It seemed, however, that their citizens were quite stubborn. I couldn't comprehend it. Most had hated cambions, and would immediately try to kill them on sight if they were stupid enough. Though, it seemed Kumara village was truly dedicated to protecting him.
One of my cloaked subordinates had suddenly walked in and began kneeling as soon as he was within distance of me. "Sir, we've received info that may be deemed useful to you. After searching through and around the ruins of Kumara village, we've discovered a forest ahead of it, and through that forest leads to a village as well," spoke the subordinate. I smirked. It did make sense. Where else would he really have to go after his home was destroyed? Not to mention the fact that his village was said to be secluded.
I turned around, the flap of my own cloak flowing behind me as I did. "Send out squads to find the cambion. We cannot continue to allow him to grow in strength, or else he will only be harder to control." I ordered the man as I walk past him. He nodded and ran swiftly out of the room. Another one of my subordinates, and my bodyguard, suddenly appeared by me. His cloak hid his appearance entirely.
"How strong do you think this cambion will get if we do not manage to find him." he asks. A stern expression under his hood as he looked forward at the man running out of the room. He was always serious, scaring away little kids with his stern, stone cold face.
I simply looked forward with a small grin. "No matter if we don't. Even if it takes years, this company hasn't been created only to fall flat on its face. We will find him, subjugate him into our forces by any means. And when we do, the dream to rebirth this world in darkness will finally be realized…" I spoke with a confident expression. No matter what, I swore, we would find this cambion… even if we had to tear apart this world piece by piece doing it...
