Realizing the quest wasn't timed, I did 1k jumping Jack's and 1k standing jumps, taking many breaks to get it done, this bodies stamina sucks. Next I started on push-ups, 5 push-ups wiped my stamina but, it regenerated quickly so meh? Does this body never get fatigued or is the a tutorial perk? Next I started running, I could run at full sprint for a while so I just ran for 1k stamina wipes. Doubt that'll earn me the running skill but it'll drive me nuts doing nothing any longer. Next I'll try driving, I go back and forth on the main dirt road over and over. After 100 laps I'm too bored to continue so I do 100 donuts. Then get out and run a few more stamina wipes. After doing all I can imagine I get in the car and go to my check point.
Inside there's a dense dude, Drinking beer without a care in the world till I ask for specifics. Thank God the computer in my head gives me the script. Dude's definately the go with the flow type but sketchy. The job is to help smuggle a crate into the city in my rattrap of a car. Try to refuse but that's clearly not an option. After running a few circles around the trailer I found him in and looting or breaking all I can, I finally help him load up the crate. We drive towards the city by an abandoned gas station so I bail out and loot the place, couple of drinks and a pack of playing cards later we're pulling in. They say I have to go through customs but it's really just to bribe a guy. I return to the car and my client is ready to shit himself but I have him drive....why?.....not even thirty seconds later we have loads of squad cars chasing us, this maniac drives through neighborhoods, after I takeout some disturbingly incapable police with my starter pistol we stop in a garage.
Idiot accuses me of selling him out then immediately drops it, asks me to work with him, I loot the garage he pulls....an iguana outta the crate and tells me iguanas are extinct!?! Wtf what game is this!?! He tells me we should team up and ignores my refusal so we shake hands and the lizard joins in. He helps me sneak to his place a two cell storage unit that's actually pretty nice in a scummy way, we have cricket peperoni pizza and beer before crashing.
Waking up in my bed...."shit, that sucked"
Ok so from what I've seen guns, driving, alcohol, and cybernetic implants will be the new skill themes I should persue....how!?! Dang it my last one had wilderness survival, a system to grow and train skills, and all my efforts are now pointless! The gun didn't even look real so real gun skills likely won't transfer, shit, should I just die? Can I get any value from that greasy dystopia? The best look I got was at night loads of doors and some collapsible structures. Maybe a lockpicking or demolition skill could be earned there? That Texas ranger called himself a samurai maybe katanas are a thing there for some reason? God I know way too little, what game was that?
Googling "videogame with pistols and iguanas are extinct" got me alot of YouTube crap but the top reddit post was a player talking about how he thought all animals went extinct in cyberpunk 2077, image search later I know where I am....and there's 2 months of cutscene after the tutorial....I had zero control at the end of that little adventure... so I'll have zero control of my isekia for 2 months!?! Shit, abit of reading later and...that wasn't the tutorial that's just the intro the tutorial has me Rob the richest guy on earth then get shot in the brain and have an ai start eating my brain!?! This is so much worse than fallout new vegas. Shit ok I have no clue what to do. I can't control my body and i can't complete the tutorial, I'm in hell.
Browsing the wiki it looks like I can craft roughly everything and some melee weapons are real world ones, like a chefs knife or a katana, but grinding melee xp irl isn't do able. Coffee in game aparrently gives a hydration buff in game so looking forward to that skill at least. But since I can't leave the start of the game and I have to do 1k of anything to get a skill for it, I can likely only get 1 crafting skill. A simple knife is likely best but damn that sucks. Loads of work negligible pay out.
Oh right I can check the app to see what skills I earned
Jumping: Jump as though your athletic skill is 0.1% higher and earn 0.1% more athletic exp per level
Jumping jacks: Perform Jumping Jack's as though your athletic skill is 0.1% higher and earn 0.1% more athletic exp per level
....ok
So classic pointless grind works?
There's gotta be more I can do with this, coffee and Apocalypse food I can slowly farm experience with. In three years I can earn a sleep skill. Running and swimming are always good. Driving skills might be nice but I've never gotten any so who knows. God this 2 month tutorial will be hell, I really hope I get control of my body sooner than that.
Screw this waiting I'll just buy and play the game if I know what I'm in for I can play abit safer and maximize my gains. I turn on my xbox and check the plice in Microsoft store...then shut it down and jog to the gamestop. $20 later I head home and start the installation process, I mightve been thrown into hell but if I can look ahead I should be able to thrive.
