Wang Lei sits in his dark-like room, the moonlight dimly lights through into his room from behind the curtains. He had imagine this scene for the last twenty-six years.
Twenty-six years ago when he first saw her, when she took her first breath in the human world; he have had his eyes on her.
On her tenth birthday, that was when he met her face to face for the first time.
She was on the river bank, at the boarder between the village and Hidden Mist Forest. Her Mother told her to keep doing the laundry while she runs back home to grab the last batch of clothing.
He was fascinated by her maturity. At the age of ten, every other kid would been running around, paying and enjoying their youth but not her.
He watched as she passionately done her chores just as her Mother had told her. Somewhere in his eyes, he saw that although she diligently rinse the pieces of clothing one by one, when she hears sound of other kids nearby laughing out of joy, her ears will perk just like a puppy.
At the age of 17 when she was more mature, and the parts of her body had fully blossom; he met her for the second time.
She had helped him but does not recall any of it. By the time their encounter was over, he had erased all her memories of that day.
He remember the terror in her eyes when she saw his fangs, when his eyes turn a darker shade. She had help him removed the bullet that was piercing through his chest. Even the wound was carefully dressed.
He remembered asking her what she would like in return. Until this day, he still recall every word she had said. "I just want a blissful life."
And he was going to give it to her.
His line of thought drafted away the moment a knock landed on his bedroom door.
"My Lord, dinner has been served. I have informed the Lady as well."
"Hmm." He hummed before heading downstairs. He was looking forward to it as today marks the first day they'll be living together.
The moment he entered the dinning room, Bai Xue was already seated and in front of her was luxury dishes she wished to share with her parent. She was now living the good life and wished she could share a little bit of happiness with them.
Wang Lei walks towards the end of the table and and seated down on his usual seat. The woman in front of him looks like a lost kitten. Her eyes beaming as she exams every dishes laid out on the table.
"Eat." He said.
That was when she realize that all the dishes were in front of her and none was on his side of the table. "You're not eating?"
Before she could finish the the sentence, Xiaofang brought a tray over and on the tray was a glass filled with what look like bloody liquid. "My Lord."
Although Bai Xue did not want to think what kind of creature the man in front of her is, she had a general idea of what he is.
"Is that all you're having?"
"I won't be starving for days after this."
While lost in the beautiful sight in front of her, she totally have forgotten another presence in the room.
Wang Lei couldn't help but stare at her beautiful figure. Her hair falling to the side of her face like flowing water in fall. Her cheeks lightly flush a shade of pink. Her pale long neck was appetizing, especially when he could sense her blood throbbing through her vein.
He did not share a bed with her that night. Only mentioning for her to have a good rest as tomorrow they were going to hold their wedding ceremony.
"Ceremony? Is that needed?"
"Although it will only be us two and perhaps a couple of the servants but I still wish to give you a proper wedding."
She had never imagine he will go as far as holding a ceremony. She was sacrificing herself, she was bond to die so it was a waste to go all out. While her thoughts were on the subject, she did not voice it out, nodding along to acknowledge him.
In the middle of the night, he was having a hard time sleeping. Although the woman he so wanted was right down the hall, his anxiety filled him up. Only he knew it was getting close to that time of the month.
As the new moon approaches his desire for blood increases.
While Bai Xue was in dreamland, Xiaofang enters Wang Lei's room. "My Lord, it has been prepared."
He closes the door behind him as he heads downstairs to the lowest level of the mansion.
Since the last encounter of him and Bai Xue, Wang Lei has not consume any human blood which is why his craving for blood increases. The blood of an animal cannot compare to the blood of a human, but to him he was willing to change for her.
While one person was busy trying to fulfilled his craving, another person lies restless on the enormous bed, too large too comfortable for her. When the night was beginning, her thoughts of sleeping decreases.
Maybe it was place she was in, maybe it was the atmosphere... anything could be an answer but deep down she knew the answer that's keeping her from falling asleep, him.
Right when her eyes were giving up on her, she suddenly hear a strange noise. It was very faint but still perks her curiosity. Sitting straight up, she walks out the room and follow the sound.
She could not help but let out a scream after witnessing the scene. The fangs, the blood, his skin which turned paler and his bright red eyes. A familiar sensation crept in her heart. It was a blur memory in which she could not pinned point.
However, his lust for blood was crystal clear.
He was more stunned than her when he realizes the situation. It was a sight he wished she should never witness. His only thoughts. "Do I have to erase her memories again?"
