Bliperilla looked out onto the ocean. The sun was peaking over the horizon, its razor thin rays shimmering off the cresting waves like stars under the morning mist that still hung low from the night before.
"Blipp?" Captain Roberta walked over to her from her captains quarters. They still sailed on the same old rickety ship. It had new battle scars that her and Bliperilla had survived together. They both had grown so much over the past five years.
"We're getting close." She held out a large stone compass in a box that was too big for her hand that had Oanid carved into the top of its lid. "I don't want to go!" She whined.
"This was your idea." Captain Roberta reminded her.
"But, but, but…" Bliperilla stammered.
"Oh my god why are you being so indecisive. " 'The Reainers are cool' you said." Captain Roberta pouted.
"Pirates are cool too but I want to save people."
"We save people."
"By robbing royals, the Oceanic Bank, or the Peace Corps." Bliperilla pointed out. The Robs Bend Pirate Fleet sailed the world. They were notorious for being rowdy and violent on a good day. On a bad day they were one of the few nations that the Peace Corps couldn't control. Many people looking to escape the hold of the Peace Corps joined the Robs Bend Pirate Fleet.
"That's what makes us awesome. We're like Rob and Hood except we have a ship that strikes fear in anyone who see's it. We have respect wherever we go and we earned it, together."
"I know, I know Cap." She couldn't look up at Captain Roberta, she kept her eyes on the horizon and then back to the compass. She jumped over embracing Roberta in a great big hug. "I'm just going to miss seeing your cute outfits!"
"Don't call me cute!" Roberta hugged her back in a tight embrace. The pink frills on her captain coat rustling under Bliperillas' arms. "All captains have frills on their captain coats."
Bliperilla laughed, "But they're not pink."
When they docked in the Port of Robs Bend, Bliperilla took her time gathering up her things. Her bag was much larger than it was when she first boarded the ship almost five years ago.
"Operation Sneak off the Pirate Ship." She slung her bag over her shoulder. "Cap is going to be so angry at this. Probably more than when I called her cute." She backed up to the wall and ran straight out the window, splashing down with a swan dive into the ocean. She swam up to the surface and paddled away. "Now she'll go into my room and think, 'Where'd she go?' And I'll be swimming to Raxia."
Over Bliperilla's shoulder she heard a whistle. She stopped and waded water in place. When she looked back the whole crew was leaning over the side watching her escape.
"You blocked more cannon balls from crashing into me than I could ever count." Bosch said.
"You helped me nurse my venus fly trap back to health even though you said plants shouldn't eat things." Venus said.
"Plants are supposed to beautifully snack on sun light!" She yelled through clenched teeth.
"That time the mast almost fell when it got hit by a cannon ball. You held it up for four hours while I fixed it." Said Miss Frizzle the tall broad shouldered shipwright with a knack for teaching unprompted history lessons.
"You helped me find my tooth brush before I was called Brown Tooth. The tooth isn't Brown anymore."
He showed his pearly whites.
Bliperilla laughed. "Get over it. You'll always be Brown Tooth to us. To me."
Brown Tooth laughed. "The name did kinda stick. Like what was stuck in my tooth. I don't remember what was stuck in my teeth making that one brown?"
"Bliperilla, you did save people, and help people. You didn't help many strangers but you helped us. I know wherever you're going, you'll save them too, or at least help save them." Tears rolled down Captain Roberta's face and if Bliperillas' face wasn't covered in water you could see her tears as well.
She waved at them and turned and set off for her new adventure.
