The cell was small and cramped but had enough space in it for Urs to flap her wings a little but only enough where her wings touched either side of the cages bars. The soldiers had not noticed her in the bag at first. They had noticed it was heavy and just might have a few valuables in it and hung it along their saddle. After placing the large burly man in a cell they went to search the bag. When they did they saw Urs nestled inside it and mistakingly picked her up. When hey did she woke up and went on a frenzy. Chasing the guards every which way until they were able to subdue her and place her in one of the cells next to the burly man.
"Hello there." She looked over at him puzzled as to who he was. She had not ever seen him before but he didn't smell dangerous like the other men. He smelled like a mix of musk and dirt and she found that to be less alarming than the rough scents coming from the soldiers. She slowly turned towards him pulling back her wings.
"Hello, My name is Henry the fourth of my name and rightful Heir to the Open Kingdom of Zea." She sniffed the ground near him when his hand slipped between the bars making her flinch a little then curl her head up to smell his fingers. After a moment he reached in further and caressed her head which she didn't pull away from.
"Your fur is soft like a pillow." He delighted and she let out a soft grumble. She jumped onto the cage and moaned loudly and clawed at the cage. "You want to get out don't you, Pillow?" She moaned again this time opening her mouth wider. Her bellow carrying itself around the cell room and through the door to the stairs.
"Hey shut that shit up." A man in a grey uniform with the Addidel family crest on his breast stepped into the room. He was the man that had subdued her. He reeked of wine and onions, Henry could smell. Urs backed away from Henry and watched him as he Glowed a grey stick and clanked it across the bars to Urs' cell. As he got close she let go a deep growl that shocked Henry but did nothing but excite the Soldier.
"You're not so scary behind those bars. You know she tore open a few of my soldiers legs. This ones a beast." He had made a mistake looking away from her and in that moment Henry saw it.
She kept up with all her force and crashed into the cage with so much force it made all the cage walls shake and the man stumbled backwards onto his ass. Henry bellowed a large howl of a laugh that echoed against the stone walls and up the stairs the man came from.
The man Glowed his stick again and got up and jumped towards the cell trying to frighten her. But without missing a beat she snarled and grinned her teeth and threw herself against the bars at him that made him kick off the cell and fly head first into the wall behind him.
Henry gasped as he heard the thud from the mans head thunking against the wall. But what surprised him more was the spirit in such a small animal. Goosebumps stuck to his arms. If this cage couldn't hold her, it wouldn't. He had to get home and if something stood in his way from getting there, he should show no mercy. Like the merciless men who killed his parents. First he was going to help this beast. "Strong spirits are a fever." His father once told him.
His foot leapt up and kicked his cell door open and he stepped out with hot air in his chest. The cell guard had knocked himself out cold. Henry walked over to the cell Urs was in and broke the lock and let her out. She jumped up and clambered up against him. She was heavier than her fluffy fur let on. After she had enough of thanking him, she barreled towards the door and ran up the stairs. He quickly remembered all of the soldiers were probably still at the top of the stairs. When he got to the top of the stairs, she was on top of a table eating food from plate to plate. All the men were gone and seeing how much food was still on the table, they had left in a hurry. In no time at all the food was gone and she was headed out the door.
"I'm right behind you, Pillow!" he called as he chased after grabbing his sword and Nero's bag.
