"He deserves to know." A woman in a white dress with dark circles around her eyes flashed before Lyra's eyes and she shot up. Quitum and Ourans room door was open. When she walked by she saw that Ourans bed was empty because he had been sleeping in her parents room since their mother was killed and their father was forced to join the Peace Corp. she looked at Quitum's bed and he wasn't in I️t, she continues down the hallway way to find Frides passed out leaned up against the wall and Nero laid out on the couch with the Domaku sleeping on his chest. She entered the kitchen and found Quitum sleeping sitting up with all of their fathers papers scattered on the table.
She saw an image of her father in that same place and smiled. She walked out the door and headed down to the market to do the shopping she was supposed to do yesterday.
When she arrived back at the house, Nero and the Domaku were sitting outside. Nero noticed her carrying a bunch of food.
"Hey...um???" Nero searches for her name.
Lyra rolls her eyes. "Its Lyra. If you're going to stay in my house you can at least remember my name."
"Lyra! Sorry, sorry." He got up and reached out to give her a hand.
She handed him a couple of bags. "What are you guys doing out here?"
The Domaku is jumping up against the door. Ouran opens the door and it runs in. Ouran smiles. "Scavenger hunt."
The Domaku started sniffing around the living room and jumping all over the place. It ran to the corner of the room and found some food in the corner. Then it jumped onto Frides, then on the couch. Frides and Ouran watched as it sniffed her way into the couch after the snack. Lyra and Nero watched from the door. It ran over to Lyra and tried to nab the groceries out of her hands but Nero grabbed them and lifted them up.
"Nope, not for you. The hunt is officially over."
"We but there's still one more." Ouran cried.
"It's more of a here and now kinda eater. The other food must be just too far away." He walked into the kitchen and Lyra followed him.
She noticed Quitum was gone and the papers had been neatly divided and stacked. "He went and found a bed to sleep in, huh?"
The Domaku followed the food and Ouran followed it into the kitchen and scratched under its chin. It flapped its wings and that startles Ouran a little, then she kicks her leg and rolls over.
Nero watched them and laughed a little under his breath and turns to put the groceries on the counter. "It likes that? Noted."
"Quitum went to the blacksmith to pick up the gears. You didn't see him?" Ouran responded to his sisters earlier question.
"No?" She couldn't believe it. "He ordered those forever ago. He's doing I️t?"
Ouran's grin was ear to ear. "Yeah!"
A jolt of excitement ran through him and he got up and rubbed the Domaku's belly with both hands making her go wild underneath him.
Quitum walked up to the house when Lyra looked out the window. He had a bag full of the gears on his back. They made eye contact and he looked away immediately embarrassed. Instead of going to the house he went straight to the cliff in an attempt to avoid any awkwardness. Frides walked into the kitchen and Lyra smiled at him and he gave her a polite nod.
Nero looked between the two and smiled to himself.
Frides sat down next to Nero. "So what's the plan?"
"What?" Nero replied stupefied.
Frides immediately got frustrated. "You said we're going to find it's mom but instead we stayed here all night. We've wasted enough time between today and yesterday. My job is to protect you until you become a Retainer."
Nero rolled his eyes and leaned against the table. "Wasting time? Can we at least have breakfast first."
Lyra interrupted them. "I️ know where you can find the Domaku's mother."
They both looked at Lyra. "Problem solved. We'll eat and get rejuvenated and then she can show us."
Lyra shook her head. "No. I cant take you there."
Frides looked at her confused.
"I️ can tell you but I'm not going there."
Nero looked from her to Frides. "Okay. Fine with me."
Lyra walked back over to the oven. "I'm, making breakfast."
Nero and Frides both exhaled.
She looked over at Frides and quickly turned around to unpack the groceries.
"Good." They said in unison.
She smiled with her back turned to them.
Frides shuffled around Ouran and the Domaku.
"Watch out Ouran! Frides is trying to get past you."
Ouran stopped, immediately feeling guilty. "I️ was just playing with her."
"Her???" Nero asked slack jawed.
"In the kitchen?" Lyra reminded him of the place. "We eat in here."
"Sorry we'll go outside."
"Ask Quitum if he's hungry."
Ouran walks over to the door. "Come on...? What's her name?"
"Stop calling I️t her, it's making my head spin. I️t doesn't have a name. How do you know it's a girl?"
Ouran's eyes move across the room sheepishly. "Well I️t doesn't have a peepee."
He laughed as he said the word and everybody cocks their heads to the side. "What's her name?"
"She? Doesn't have a name."
"Ursella." Lyra suggested.
Frides agreed. "I️ like I️t."
Nero squinted his eyes at Frides and smirked a little. "I'm sure you do."
"I️ do. It's like the story of the first..."
"Yeah yeah yeah, but shouldn't I️ have a say? Wait no no, you name IT and then you start to become attached."
Ouran kneeled down and grabbed the Domaku's face now called Ursella. "Come on Lil Urs."
Urs ears pricked up and she jumped onto him. "I️ think she likes her new name."
Nero scowled at Lyra. "Now look what you've done."
"Don't look at me like that! How are you going to have this living thing with you and not give I️t a name? Or even know whether I️t is a boy or a girl. I️t was bound to happen."
"I️ just didn't want to be all in her privates like that and I️ just hadn't decided on a name yet." Nero rebutted.
Lyra wasn't convinced. "Let's hear some of those names?"
"Okay. Like.....Ren....Stive."
"Stive? What kinda name is that?" Frides said ironically.
Lyra laughed. "Like Stive is a better name than Ursella. Ursella sounds regal and strong and pretty."
"Well I️ didn't know I️t was a girl I️ was obviously trying to come up with unisex names."
Frides still unaware piled on. "Stive sounds like the name of a plant or something."
Lyra laughed. "Or it's parents hated it."
Nero read the room and could tell he wasn't going to win this one. "Alright Ursella I️t is."
"You can change I️t if you want."
"I️ know when I've been beaten. Besides that was my third choice I just didn't want to be obvious." Frides pursed his lips and Lyra rolled her eyes. "I'm going to call her Urs though."
