l couldn't understand.
Is Winter Wallace related to Professor Wendy? Or is she Winter?
There was a knock on the door.
"Please come in." I said.
The door creaked open, and it revealed the doctor.
She gently smiled at me.
"Ms. Vera, you'll be discharged by this afternoon. You already show signs of healing. It's quite peculiar for someone who went on a vegetative state." she stated in a very soothing voice.
"Thank you, uhh, Doctor Adrestia." I said in a casual tone, as I try to see her nameplate.
"Call me Doctor Mi—Mnemosyne." she stuttered.
"Doctor Mnemosyne? That's a cool name." I pretended to be in awe and interested.
"Yes, my mother loves myths so much that she named me after the Goddess of Memory, and the Goddess of Wisdom and War." she sheepishly said.
"Goddess of Wisdom and War? Athena? Minerva?" I asked, while trying to recall who else is pegged in the myths as a Deity of Wisdom and War.
"Ah, yes. Minerva. I just, you know, hate that name. I'd prefer Mnemosyne rather than Minerva." she said.
"But at least it's a cool name." I quipped.
"Yeah, I think it is cool." she smiled at me, and then stood up.
"By the way Doctor Mnemo, you sounded familiar to me." I said, in a confused tone.
"Oh, I think you might be referring to my half-sister. Wendy Wallace. We do sound similar." she smiled at me.
"Oh, I didn't know Professor Wendy had a sister. It's so cool that both of you sounded the same." I said, as if my eyes had stars in it.
"Well I have to check on other patients, Ms. Vera. Byeeee~" she happily said as she waved her hands at me.
"Bye Doctor Mnemo~" I said, returning her happy tone.
'Well, well, well. Another Winter Wallace eh?' the voice said, as if folding its own arms.
'What do you mean by the another Winter Wallace line of yours, Lady Vera?' I said, raising a bit of my eyebrow.
'Oh wow, for the first time you properly addressed me!' the voice sarcastically said.
'Well, you wouldn't speak up if I won't address you as an 'it', as a soul, or as a voice. And I'm slowly reaching the acceptance stage. That's why, I might start to address you properly.' I scoffed.
'Well, Wendy and Minerva huh? I think there's more to it than what meets the eye. So you see, there is only one Winter Wallace, when I say one? Only one. There couldn't be a duplicate or triplicate. Not unless, first reason: Winter is now a mother of two. Second reason: She performed a ritual to transfer 50% of her soul and split it into two, even if she is still alive.' Lady Vera reasoned out.
'But what if it's none of the two reasons?' I asked.
'There might be two or three more reasons, Aurelius. There are millions among millions of possibility. But I suggest, you must start an investigation on your own. Get closer to that Wendy Wallace.' she instructed.
'Well you said don't go near Winter Wallace—how would I know if Professor Wendy IS Winter Wallace?' I shot back.
'I'll protect you.' Lady Vera said.
'Can I trust Minerva Mnemosyne?' I asked.
'I do have a hunch of that Minerva. She's probably Supreme Senior Hechicera Vor. One of the Supreme Senior Hechiceras in my time, and a part of the Valor Counsel. Her spells specializes in memories and her brain can create millions of battle strategies. She's the brain of Valor.' Lady Vera said in a serious tone.
'I can give you a flash of my memories of the past if you wish to do so. So that you can help yourself, as a vasal.' she quietly said.
'Well, what happens to me if you find the crown and crestfallen?' I asked.
'Well, it's complicated. But a vasal must be strong enough, so that when my soul separates from the vasal, the vasal will remain alive.' she said.
'Oh so—'
"Venice? Venice! Wake up, wake up!"
My mother's voice pulled me out from reverie.
I opened my eyes to see my mother, my father, and grandpapa in the hospital room I'm occupying.
"Huh? Why mum? Why are you shaking?" I asked her, genuinely confused.
"You.. I thought I—we lost you.." Dad said, his voice was shaking.
"What?! Why?" I panicked.
"We thought you were sleeping, but we saw you weren't breathing. As we called a nurse to check your breathing and pulse, she said it was unstable. We were afraid of what will happen." Mum frantically said, with tears rolling down her eyes.
"I was talking to Lady Vera. And I was just feeling fine while talking to her." I timidly said.
It shocked them.
"Y-You're talking to Vera?" grandpapa gulped.
"Yes grandpapa." I carefully said.
"And you're like, being snapped from reverie?" he then asked.
"Yes.. Why?" I answered his question with an answer and another question.
"This is what I feared the most." grandpapa hang his head low as he said the words that made my world quiver.
