The people on deck looked out onto the sea and saw a pale green glow rising quickly from beneath the water.
On closer examination, it was apparent that the source was a jellyfish shaped like a small umbrella, suspended in the water and radiating fluorescence like a firefly living in water.
Following the appearance of the first jellyfish, a second and a third emerged...soon hundreds of jellyfish appeared swiftly.
In the blink of an eye, tens of thousands of fluorescent jellyfish emerged from the depths of the ocean, floating just beneath the water's surface, no more than a centimeter deep. A radius of thousands of meters of sea surface was illuminated with a dreamlike pale green glow from the jellyfish. The massive ship sailed through the water as though gliding over the leaves of water lilies, a spectacle of stunning beauty.
Those on the deck widened their eyes, unable to restrain exclamations of amazement.
"So pretty!"
"So beautiful!"
