The auction continued, with items being brought up for auction one after another, but there were very few bidders. Most of the people present were waiting for the main event—the Examination Exemption Certificate—to make their move.
In the meantime, Richard managed to win a few items at prices that could be considered conscientious, such as a bronze lamp base suspected of containing Metal Chromium and a Silver Statue suspected of containing Metal Titanium. Gro asked curiously about his reasons, to which Richard responded that he liked them.
Time kept slipping away...
After quite a while, the auctioneer wiped the sweat from his face, glanced at a servant below the stage, and then turned his head to look at the many nobles present.
