Chereads / LUAHU / Chapter 8 - 8 First Song

Chapter 8 - 8 First Song

I headed out of the bathroom after taking a pee and found Zion sleeping on the living room's couch, drunk. Neal has been sleeping on the sand on their backyard, also drunk. Diana had already went back home while Olivia is now sleeping inside the spare room of this massive house. I can't find Harry and Georgina-Rose so I decided to head out to the backyard to wake Neal up and help him out of the sand because I bet he'd catch a cold but I halted when I heard Harry's voice.

I followed where the voice was coming from and it led me up the stairs. I walked to the bedroom where I can hear the voice and he was talking with Georgina-Rose, who also had a lot of bottles to drink earlier. I stood by a slightly opened bedroom where I can see Georgina-Rose crying as she sits on the foot of her bed topless and only had an underwear.

"Harry please." She begs.

"Georgie, you're drunk. You don't know what you're saying." he answers her. "Get some clothes and go to sleep." He tells her like a big brother.

"Is it because of this woman you just met?" She stands from the bed.

This was a completely different woman. This was not the Georgina-Rose that I met earlier. This side of her is confident and loud, contrary to the silent and timid woman she showed to all of us.

"Merry has nothing to do with this." Harry answers.

"Then why don't you sleep with me?" She asks, sounding as if she was pleading Harry for sex.

He sighs, "Georgie, you know that I don't see you that way. I respect you and I think of you as a younger sister. I can't and I will never have sex with you."

"Why do you have to be so selfish Harry!?"

He breathes heavily, "You're just drunk. Tomorrow you'll forget about all of this. So go to sleep."

I moved away from the door as soon as Harry was rushing out of the bedroom. He shuts the door behind him and stared at me as I was standing here feeling guilty for listening. "I'm sorry." I say.

"I… I didn't mean to listen. I shouldn't have." I added.

Harry shakes his head, "It's fine. I should be the one who should apologize that you saw her like that."

Harry and I headed to the staircase together. "Is she… always like that?" I ask, curiously.

He nods. "When she's terribly drunk. But she tends to forget about it the next day."

"I see. She likes you a lot."

"Obsessed, is the correct word. All these times that I was nice to her, she misinterpreted the things I was doing. Now every time she gets drunk, she strips in front of me and asks for sex."

We finally reached the ground floor of their beach house and now it made sense why Harry kept reminding her earlier not to get drunk. "Why don't you just get over it with her?"

He looks at me disapprovingly, "I'm not going to fuck her. Georgie is like a sister to me. And besides, if I give in to her wants then she will assume that I am really into her. I don't like to set her hopes up."

It's amazing how he does not take advantage of Georgina-Rose's vulnerability and state of mind when she is really drunk. If it were other men, they would have taken advantage of her feelings just for sex.

"It's pretty late. It's 2AM, mind if you stay here instead?" He asks.

I paused and thought for a second before answering, "But Olivia is already sleeping in the spare room."

"You can sleep in my room." He offers instantly. "I can take Zion's."

"What? Is it even alright?" I ask as I glance at Zion. "I mean, we can wake Zion up and I can sleep on the couch." I offered but Harry was already shaking his head. I travelled my eyes to Neal who is still sleeping outside. "Also, Neal is still sleeping on the sand. Shouldn't we wake him up or something?"

"Nah, Neal is a deep sleeper. It'll take you hours to wake him up."

I nod at him before glancing at the piano. "Who plays the piano in here?" I ask as I walk towards it.

"Uhh… Nobody really plays the piano in here that much. Sometimes I play when they aren't around the house." Harry answers shyly as he follows me.

My brows creasing, "Why is that?"

"I just don't like playing when somebody is around."

I purse my lips, "So that means you know how to sing too?"

"Oh, don't push your luck America."

I grin, "I take that as a yes."

He shakes his head sideways subtly while he rests his elbow over the grand piano before asking, "Do you know how to play?" His eyes interested to know.

I decided to take a seat as he stands there next to me, "I'm not really good at it. Can you play for me?"

Harry looks hesitant. "I just told you I don't want to play when somebody is around."

"Come on. You can just imagine that I am not here." I begged and I know his eyes tells me that he does not want to play the piano. "You said you play the piano and I want to know how god you are." I tell him as I pat the piano chair so he can sit next to me.

He didn't move.

"Come on. You brought me all the way here and you can't even entertain your guest?" I pat the piano chair again. "Please Harry?"

He groans before taking the seat next to me, "I haven't played the piano in front of someone a long time now. The last time I played the piano in front of another person was 12 years ago."

"12? Wow. Who did you play for?"

"My grandma. She requested it before she died."

I frowned, "I'm sorry for asking."

Harry smiles weakly at me as he rubs my spine with his huge hand, "It's alright."

I pulled my head up to him and smiled, "It's fine if you make a mistake when you play. I mean, I bet I suck more at playing the keys." I encouraged him.

He just stares at me, "You're really pushy."

"I'm just here trying my luck." I smile at him. "Will you sing for me?" I asked kindly.

He looked up to the ceiling while groaning and he looked as if it was something he does not want to do. Clearly, he does not play for much people, "Don't push it, America."

"Please?"

Harry exhales heavily before turning his head back to my direction. "I'll play only this one time, for you." He tells me while he stares into my eyes before placed his hands over the piano. I didn't know what he meant but he sounded sincere when he told me he would play for me or maybe I am just thinking way too much than I should.

"Under one condition." He adds.

"I'm doubtful with your conditions." I tell him as I see him smirking. "But what is it?"

"You'll learn how to surf with me."

I gaped as I was scoffing. "I knew you have something under your sleeve. Fine."

He nods with a smile before asking, "Do you know the song Turning Page?"

"No, I don't."

Harry pushes his hair back while raking his fingers through his luscious curls as he stares into my eyes deeply, "Well you better sit back, relax and listen well because this is for one night only." He tells me with his mischievous dimpled smile.

"I'm all ears." I answer.

He started playing a slightly melancholy song as his emerald eyes focused on how his fingers were playing the white and black keys. I loved watching how his fingers move around the keyboard and how he pursed his lips subtly while he plays the intro of the song. The sound of the music coming from the piano echoes inside the silent beach house as I hear the waves from the ocean on the background.

"I've waited a hundred years. I'd wait a million more for you." Harry begins to sing and his deep voice just captivated me, melting my weak heart.

He closes his eyes as he sings with feelings and I can really feel how passionate he was in playing the piano. "Nothing prepared me for what the privilege of being yours would do."

He travelled his eyes towards me as he continued playing and I was completely enraptured. "If I had only felt the warmth within your touch. If I had only seen how you smiled when you blush or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough. Oh I would've known what I was living for all along. What I've been living for." I can feel myself blushing to how he stares at me because it's as if he was singing this song for me and how it's making me feel utterly vulnerable.

Harry turns his attention back to the piano and started playing notes a little fast as I watch how he purse his lips while he hits the keys. "Your love is my turning page, only the sweetest words remain."

I loved how he hits the keys while his head sways to the tune of what he was soulfully playing while deep raspy voice sounds terribly soothing to the ears. His voice, sounded like an angel but sinfully sexy at the same time as it echoes throughout the entire living room.

"Every kiss is a cursive line. Every touch is a redefining phrase."

Harry travelled his eyes towards me and all of a sudden I was frozen by his stunning green eyes, "I surrender who I've been for who you are. For nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart. If I had only felt how it feels to be yours."

He smiles while looking away from me, "Well I would have known what I've been living for all along. What I've been living for."

I loved watching how he would cock his head slightly backwards while closing his eyes when he sings a higher note and how his brows crease in the middle of his forehead as a reflex action to when he sings a lower note. For this moment, I see him as a different man and definitely not the cocky and charming Harry that I knew when I met him earlier. He is naturally musically talented.

His eyes focused back on the keys and I can see through his eyes the passion he has for music and even though he tells me that he has not played the piano for a long time, he is still so damn good at it. Thus was pure talent. He can amazingly sing and can reach high notes which was absolutely beautiful. This man, can actually sing on a big stage in front of millions of screaming fans appreciating his talent.

"Though we're tethered to the story we must tell."

His voice softens as his emerald green eyes now focused back at me as his fingers kept jumping over the white and lack keys of this grand piano, "When I saw you, well I knew we'd tell it well with a whisper we will tame the vicious seas like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees."

He plays a short riffs before the song came to an end, leaving me completely speechless. Harry turned his head towards me as I began to clap for him while he smiles. "Thank you, you're too kind." He says.

"You're really talented." I tell him.

He crinkles his nose, "Nah, it was just pure luck."

I shake my head sideways disagreeing, "That was not pure luck. That was talent. Pure talent. Your grandma would be so proud of you. You should be a singer, just like Jackson Scott. Actually you remind me of him in his younger days, my mom has tons of his CDs and she even went to his concerts. Ohmigod, if you're going to be famous, you can have sold out world tour concerts and—"

"I don't like music." He cuts me off as he stands from the piano chair. Harry looked instantly pissed and I wondered what I have said wrong that made him angry.

He rakes his fingers over his hair as he stares at me coldly. "It's pretty late, we should sleep."
