Chapter 44 - CHAPTER 44: No Magic Involved

"If you think too much of the hatred you have for one person. Then as the partner of White Tiger, a mythological beast fighting the darkness, you should think deeply as to what purpose you really have."

Drake just gritted his teeth in agitation at the loss that he received and the words she was saying.

It was an utter defeat, he has no excuses.

He was able to see just how strong Saphira is.

"If you weren't running on your emotions, then you could have seen so many mishaps that I have done," she gave one last comment before turning away.

Drake clenched his fists because White Tiger have agreed to her.

White Tiger have seen the misses that Saphira made but Drake was too focused on attacking that he wasn't listening to him.

Saphira turned towards where the other five were.

"Gather up."

The five of them walked over to where the two of them are.

Her call snapped them out from their reverie to how she beautifully finished the fight with her sword strength alone.

As the six of them lined up, Drake was finally attentive to her.

"What I said does not only apply to him," she pointed at Drake with her eyes.

Before she looked at each of them.

"There will come a time where I will deem that the mission is too much for us that I will call for you to retreat. Not for us to completely lose by running away but for us to regroup in order to fight better."

She was speaking of this because she wants to prepare them, for the future battles.

"Do you understand?" she asked full of authority.

"Yes, sir."

They answered in unison.

"I can't hear you, if I call you back, are you going to retreat?" she asked again.

Her voice was louder getting the attention of some of the knights.

She was speaking of retreating?

Some of them were obviously baffled and was even agitated that the Platinum Knights, the highest Order.

The Order of the Seven Myths will be made to retreat in some battle.

But those who are at the top of the knighthood understood what she wanted to convey in here.

There are battles with darkness difficult enough that could affect their mentality.

If this happens then retreating will be their only option.

And yes she was right about it, they are not retreating to runaway but they are retreating to win.

Sometimes you have step back in order to move forward.

The four generals had a new found respect towards her.

She was there standing in front of everyone.

Not acting a victim but instead used it to her advantage.

She stood there tall and strong telling them what a true commander would say.

Even the heads of the seven families were nodding in agreement to what she was saying.

The six answered in unison of a resounding agreement.

"If I say retreat, what will you do?" she continued asking.

"Retreat!!"

"What?!?!"

"Retreat!!"

She breathed out, "Remember what you all just declared. If that time comes and you don't listen then I won't hold back in giving your punishments."

"It seems from the get go, she was already preparing them for what might happen," Chester Celeste, Nixon's grandfather, commented.

"When that time comes, everything will still be up to her," Asherton sighed.

Because no matter what preparation, there are so many things that will overthrow those preparations.

"But her giving such a command at such an early stage is another trait one should be commended about," Reginald followed.

He looked towards where the four generals were standing, "And she gained some sort of respect because of the meeting she asked for today."

"For the training, I want all of you to get out to the forest and fight by twos. Just like academy but I need you to fight with your swords alone. No magic involved," she finally gave her first order.

This is what all of them are currently lacking.

The strength with their swords alone.

The reason she also did not use her magical power in their battle.

It was to show everyone that not everything could be fought with their magical powers.

She wants them to become physically stronger so that when the time comes that their manas run out, they will still have the strength to keep fighting.

"That is what you will do from afternoon till night," she continued.

"Night?" some whispered.

They were onlookers but they were the ones commenting the most.

"Isn't it too dangerous to do things at night?"

"What kind of stupidity is she doing right now?"

The two who commented gasped when they felt a cold metal in their necks.

"Seriously I really don't mind your comments about me being the traitor's sister or me being a traitor as well. But when it comes to training, their is no such thing as being stupid."

She was now standing in between them pointing their very own swords at their necks.

She was a bit far but she was able to get to where they are in an instant at the same time pull out their very own swords to threaten them with it.

Hunter was just a few feet away.

There are limitations to his own patience.

If Saphira didn't get there first, these two would already be injured severely.

"Dangerous? Aren't you the ones being so easily placed in danger?" she laughed tossing their swords towards them.

"We are going for battles where we will have to fight in different conditions. We are not babies that needs to be watched when to fight and how to fight."

She walked over to Hunter and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"We are the Order who has one of our feet buried in the ground. The moment we accepted this, that is already our destiny. For you thinking about battling demonic beasts during the night as something dangerous."

She looked at them with a helpless smile, "Isn't that what we are living for right now? To be in so many dangerous situations?"
