Jessica Jung didn't fear many things. But on that particular day, Jessica saw something that made her eyes shake and her throat feel dry.
"Do not be afraid," he—or it—had said. How could she not be afraid when a creature of blinding white light and multiple, giant sets of wings appeared right before her? Especially when she was just unsuspectingly eating a salad during her lunch break?
Jessica tried to keep her composure. If this creature was something that was a threat to her, she did not want to show any weakness. She shut her slightly ajar mouth and put her fork back down in her salad container.
Just as Jessica was finishing formulating what she was going to say to this creature of light, the booming, echoing voice sounded once again, "Jessica. I am your Guardian Angel."
She continued staring at the apparent angel with wide eyes, trying to process the information just given to her.
Once the angel's words finally sunk in, Jessica couldn't hold back an incredulous expression. "You're my what?" Jessica wasn't particularly religious, her parents were, but that just wasn't the sort of thing for her.
