"Ngozika, wake up," Kathleen's mother called softly as she turned on the light and tapped Kathleen's shoulder.
"Why? Is it morning already?" Kathleen asked sleepily, not wanting to open her eyes. The previous day had been hectic with all the running around and final preparations for their wedding, so she wanted to get enough rest before Ella and her girls arrive to fix her hair and do her make-up.
"Sit up!" Her mother ordered sternly, and Kathleen reluctantly opened her eyes and sat up on the bed.
They were at a three-bedroom shortlet apartment which Pete had rented for her and her family for the purpose of their wedding. It would be weird for her to leave for the church from his house and return there as a bride, plus there was no way her entire family could fit into her BQ, hence he had rented the place for them to stay there for a week. Thankfully it was April, and schools were on break, so her younger ones had all been able to travel.
