"What do you want?" Pete asked Kathleen immediately she stepped into his office without knocking. She had ignored the secretary and hadn't bothered to tell the secretary to inform Pete that she wanted to see him.
He was still a bit miffed and embarrassed by what had just happened in her office. He couldn't believe how he had made a fool of himself by asking her on a date in the presence of everyone only for her boyfriend to show up. From the way they had been behaving during lunch the previous day, he should have guessed that something was up between them. He was pretty positive that she had come to rub it in.
Kathleen stared at Pete not knowing what to say or where to start from, "Well, you were asking about dinner before we were interrupted earlier." She said finally.
"Before we were interrupted by your boyfriend, you mean? Forget it, I know the answer already so I don't need to hear it from you." Pete said sarcastically.
