Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6 DHIREN

After Conner, Alec, and Niklaus had left my room, I was left to ponder what Niklaus had said on his way out. I had hoped that they had simply been to caught up in the chaos to notice my scars, but of course and alphas, they noticed them. I was glad that Niklaus wouldn't push the issue, but was afraid of what would happen should Conner ask about them. Would I tell him of there origins, or would I deflect. When if ever would I be ready to talk about them?

I laid in silence and after several hours of getting no where, I got up and took a shower. It had been some time since I had seen myself in a mirror and I still don't know how long I was in the dungeon for. I was surprised at how normal I looked. I was losing muscle, but was still a healthy weight. I had long, wavy, brown hair with amber highlights, deep amber eyes that glowed yellow when my wolf took control, and a smattering of freckles across the bridge of my nose and cheeks. After getting dressed in a pair of long jeans, tennis shoes, and a blue long sleeve shirt, I sat on the balcony to watch the sunrise.

Watching the sunrise, I thought back to those who had attacked my family. Last nights dream brought it to the forefront of my mind and details began to appear that I hadn't paid much attention to before. Thinking back to the uniforms they wore, I quickly grabbed a notepad and a pencil. Scribbling furiously the image in my mind before I lost it again. After a few minutes, I gasped. I drew an emblem that shook me to my core. This was impossible, but I knew this symbol and it stuck fear into my very soul. Where did I know this from?

I jumped when a hand touched my shoulder and swung out to defend myself. Too late I realized the intruder was Conner. I clocked him in the nose which immediately began to bleed. I ran to the bathroom and grabbed towels, mortified by what I had just done.

"I am so sorry. I didn't know it was you. You scared me." I held the rag to his face as he tried to respond. I knew that his healing abilities would kick in and the blood would stop within a matter of seconds. Soon the bleeding had stopped and I ushered him to the bathroom to wash off while I scrubbed the blood off the floor. Once the floor was clean, I knocked on the bathroom door to check on Conner. Right as I knocked, Conner opened the door and my knock fell on open air. Luckily Conner had been able to clean the blood off as if nothing had happened.

"I am so sorry, I didn't know you were there," I hastily explained embarrassed of the event.

"It is okay, Ren. You have good instincts. I was just too slow." He seemed impressed that the blow landed, but was more amused with Ren's reaction to punching him than upset. "I was just coming to see if you wanted to join me and father for breakfast."

"I would love to." My stomach growled in agreement. "Sorry." I said as I felt my face turning red. Conner just laughed and ushered me towards the door.

"What were you so captivated by that you didn't hear me come in," Conner asked.

As soon as the words left his mouth I ran back to my terrace to grab the drawing from earlier. Returning to Conner I said, "This is, but I think we should wait until we are at breakfast with your father before I share it." I hurried down the hall with Conner rushing to keep up behind me.
