Once finished, Arpious repaid the favor, carefully brushing and braiding Runa's hair, though her technique was far less polished. Runa didn't mind, laughing softly when Arpious muttered about how much longer it was than she expected.
After the bath, Runa led Arpious to the living room, where she had already organized a tray of herbal tea and light snacks. The two wrapped themselves in soft, enchanted blankets that shimmered faintly in the light.
Sipping their tea, they exchanged stories of their pasts, their voices quiet and content. The afternoon extended lazily ahead of them, but neither felt the need to rush.
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, its light filtering through the windows, Arpious leaned back with a sigh. "Alright, I'll admit it. You were right."
Runa raised an eyebrow. "About what?"
"This," Arpious said, gesturing to the peaceful surroundings. "I needed it."
