Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Training

(Kenneth) "Alright, Asch. Do you know what we're doing today? We're doing training."

(Asch) "What kind of training?"

(Kenneth) "I can see that you have the skill [Morph]."

(Asch) "Yes, what about it?"

(Kenneth) "I'm sure you've noticed but more adventurers have been coming into the forest lately. They may be hunting you."

Yikes.

(Kenneth) "So I'll teach you how to morph into a more human form."

(Asch) "I see..."

(Kenneth) "Why don't you try doing it right now?"

I activated [Morph]. The result was... something I'd rather not talk about.

(Kenneth) "I see you're having troubles trying to morph into a human. What about a beastman then?"

Beastman?! There were beastmen here?! I want to meet one so badly!

(Kenneth) "Listen here, Asch. The key to successfully morph is to have a good imagination. So focus on what you want to look like."

Black hair, red eyes... fluffy ears and a tail... A few moments later, I had successfully morphed into what I wanted to look like. My body was around 17-years old. Although, I immediately morphed back to a wolf since I had... no clothes on whatsoever.

(Kenneth) "Hmm... we're gonna need some clothes that won't rip when you transform. I'll lend you some of my clothes for now."

The clothes were a bit baggy but I'm just gonna have to deal with it. Apparently, we were going to Aeston for something. Aeston was a lively town, I'll tell you that.

Just when I wanted to explore, Kent came into a tailor's shop. Of course, I followed him in.

(???) "Oh, is that you, Kenneth? It's been so long!"

A beautiful woman with brown hair and eyes said. It sounds like she knows Kenneth.

(Kenneth) "It has, Christie. I'd like you to make some clothes for Asch here."

(Christie) "Asch? Who's that, your kid?"

Kenneth laughed nervously.

(Kenneth) "No, he's... our pet."

(Christie) "Wait, come again?"

(Kenneth) "Just use [Appraisal] on him, you'll understand."

Her face held confusion as she looked over at me. Moments later, she used [Appraisal].

(Christie) "F-F-FENRIR?! WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT DOING–"

(Kenneth) "Shh, not so loud!"

(Christie) "But Kenneth, that's a Fenrir! It's one of the most dangerous monsters out there and you know it!"

(Kenneth) "I know. But something's different about this one."

Well... he's not wrong there, I was a human with an unhealthy obsession for wolves that got reincarnated.

(Kenneth) "Me and my family have been raising him since he was a puppy. He's very friendly."

(Christie) "Hmm... even if you say that, I can't trust him so quickly."

I could feel my ears drooping at that statement.

(Christie) "But I suppose I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time. You want me to make some clothes for him, right?"

Kenneth nodded yes. Christie kneeled down and got what seems to be threads?

(Christie) "Here. These are called Magic-Absorbing Threads. Have Asch emit his magic towards these and it'll absorb his magic. That way, the clothes will be treated as part of his magic and appear whenever he transforms."

She handed us a room for this. And after a few hours, The threads have turned into the colors of black and red. Maybe because of my magic? Honestly, it was a bit tiring because I had to constantly emit my magic.

The lady said it would take a few days before she would finish the clothes. So for the rest of the day, Kenneth took me to lots of other places in Aeston. He took me to a restaurant, too.

We went home right after that. For the next few days, we had been training almost non-stop. He didn't just teach me how to use [Morph], he taught me about other stuff too.

The one I didn't like was the idea of raising my resistance towards fire. Fenrirs were strong but they always had weakness towards that element. Kenneth told me that if I were to survive out here, I needed to overcome my weakness.

Uh, nope. Not happening.

We also got a package from Christie. It was the clothes Kenneth wanted her to make for me. Honestly, it looked like a butler's outfit, except that the white part was red instead. I wasn't complaining though. I actually love it. I'll thank her myself when I get the chance.
