Chapter 4 - Chapter Two

"Jason can you hear me?" I spoke softly while slowly putting distance between us,but he wasn't having any of that the tiles beneath his feet cracked as he charged at me.My brows knit together as I noticed how quickly he closed the distance, once up close he made a wide swing which I evaded ducking under his blow I felt the very air heat up above my head and before he noticed what to happened, with my hands glowing a pale purple I struck him in the gut forcing him back, all that was achieved was a grunt of pain which provided no deterrence to him as he was charging at me once more.

' Unbelievable,he managed to neutralize the pulse wave that quickly, that attack usually works well against other elements working best on fire and water elemental's.... Then again this is the first I've every seen such colour flames' although he had power and speed on his side his moves were far too basic and predictable to be a cause for concern, stepping back to avoid a upper cut I looked directly into Jason's eye and spoke once more.

"Jason calm down...Now take deep breaths and–" he stopped mid assault as he stared dazedly into my eyes which most likely were a pale purple in colour.

The commonly known elements were: Fire,Earth,Wind and Water, this as been the case for years with many not placing importance on the secondary elements due to their uniqueness and difficulty to control, but I was one of the few who persevered and accomplished astonishing results .Before most would say there was no element, secondary or otherwise that could let you invade and influence the mind of someone and bend said person to your will, this was far from the truth,I'm an example of that and given how destructive this secondary element is it's surprising to see it used as such.

Jason's body soon relaxed as I held his gaze and a link was formed with his subconscious mind and mine, now that we were connected I felt every emotion he felt causing me to break out into a cold sweat as I felt his anger and hate, worried but not wanting to give up on the slight hope I had that there was a solution,I ventured farther in to his mind searching for a way to break him out of this rage full state. But no sooner than I began searching I felt my subconscious encircled in a wall of white flames.

'Did he just create a barrier to block me off...This can't be?! He's clearly not thinking straight at the moment' this situation was so bizarre, not to brag but only a select few could block me from searching their minds and seeing this list add another name wasn't a pleasant feeling.

'Damnit!' Panic began to set in as the flames drew closer,it felt as if both my physical and subconscious body would be engulfed and burned to ash by these flames.Although reluctant I prepared to sever our connection but stopped when the flames suddenly disappeared leaving me in a now dark space, keeping my guard up I proceeded cautiously one step at a time and seeing no reaction from the surroundings I let out a breath of relief.

'I wouldn't be so at ease if I were you' a cold voice spoke up from behind me,surprised I spun around ready to defend myself from a possible attack but apart from the darkness no one was there, confused and flustered I looked around.

'Give up on your pointless search, although I detest the secondary elements, and the lightening element even more so your skills are of use at the moment so I'll guide you to where you must go' this mysterious voice spoke it's tone still cold and filled with distain I would've questioned this any other day but I didn't have much time,I could feel the link weakening so I needed to act quickly, when the voice faded and a white path appeared in front me leading deeper into Jason's mind I didn't question or worry about the consequences as I bolted down it's length. Not knowing how long I traversed this path for as it seemingly went on forever,I was relieved when it came to an end but I wasn't mentally prepared for what scene that awaited me at my destination, all that was there was a raging inferno of white flames stretching as far as my eyes allowed me see it's depth unknown, hesitant and fearful I took deep breaths before stepping forward preparing for the worst but much to my surprise although I was engulfed unlike before I felt no heat or discomfort from these flames so worrying less I advanced.

Mesmerized by the beauty and bizarre nature of these flames as I continued my journey I passed a hand slowly through them.

'What strange flames, earlier I was sure I would be nothing but ash if that voice hadn't intervene or if I didn't sever our connection. But now here I am completely engulfed and walking through said flames as if I was on a nature trail...Could that voice be responsible for this? Well it doesn't matter now at least as long as I find Jason this situation should be resolved' with that in mind I observed the surroundings taking note of every minute detail,it was through this observation I discovered a blinding light in the distance even from where I stood it irritated my eyes, but it was the only unnatural thing about this place so although wary I proceeded to the light.Once close enough I realized it was a towering pillar of flames but it was definitely different from the flames which cloaked my body now as it gave off a stifling pressure, along with that a terrifying heat radiated from it so hot that I had no doubt if I took one more step I would become nothing but ash in a matter of minutes.

'Is this the source of his power?' I pondered wandering around the pillar ensuring I was a safe distance away, frustration took hold after an hour passed with the link weakening even more and not seeing any visible weakness in the pillar I could use to enter.

I gritted my teeth as I finally made my decision and once made I stopped hesitating, taking a deep breath and relaxing my body a purple hue covered my body when I did this the link weakened faster. A low boom was heard as I shot off towards the pillar of flames as for the outcome I had no idea, but what I know is I must be successful in this endeavor for both Jason and mine fates.
