Mark felt weird after the sudden call from his father so he decided to check on Maria himself.
" Hey Crystal! Where's Maria? " He spoke into the phone while getting into his car.
" She left almost an hour ago or so. Have some work to do, she said. I don't know anything else. " Crystal replied shoving the spoonfull of cheesecake down her mouth.
" Alright. If she calls you tell me, I need to know if she is alright. "
" Why? Did something happen? " Crystal furrowed her eyebrows.
" I hope not. Dad called me to ask about her. He seemed anxious for some reason. "

Mark took a turn to get to his home as early as possible.
