Maria was instructing the servants to make the bed more comfortable for the patient a.k.a. Samuel.
A small smile was displayed on her face unknown to her.
Her brother watched her with a pained expression. He always knew how both her and Samuel were close from the start. How their likes and dislikes were similar. How they were the best of friends. And how they were both betrothed to each other. Always told that they were going to marry each other. It wasn't a surprise that Maria became comfortable with Samuel so easily. So much time had passed yet they easily became close to each other.
' Maria was already involved in this mess, the moment Samuel met her. Keeping them apart is futile. ' That was the only thought lingering in Mark's mind.
" Brother... Hey.... Mark... " Maria's voice reached his ears. She suddenly pulled him by his arm and he came out of his trance.
" Yeah... " He asked her, an unfocused look in his eyes.
