Ciara had been unable to go back to the mansion since Damon had told her to leave. She felt too guilty and dirty. She felt like she had done something so grave and evil. Truly she had done just that. She had broken Damon. She had caused Damon to break down. She remembered tge image of him crying that day. He had been so hurt and he had refused to allow her touch him.
Ciara had a hand in the orchestration of the death of another man's mate just because she so badly wanted to take a place that could never be hers. All because she wanted to secure her future. All because she wanted power and she wanted it only by taking what wasn't hers. It was never hers to begin with and it was never going to be hers to end with.
Now that she had accepted it, she felt better. She saw the world from a different perspective. She saw that there was no big deal after all. All she had to do was learn to understand the world and how it worked.
