Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: SunKissed Country, West Nile City

"General Kar what's going to happen to him once he's healed up?" Sister Adah asked worriedly, knowing that even though West Nile City isn't the capital anymore, it retained its strict policies about citizenship, harsh policies on spies, Pirates, and an assortment of laws pertaining to identification. Of course these laws weren't perfect and neither are the officials or Nobel's. It is common knowledge that illegal citizens often get sold into Slave market' especially the young, strong, and able. Also the Officials weren't above taking bribes from the Niles underworld. Surprisingly most of these dealings weren't done in the dark, do to laws placed. That didn't mean there weren't any secret dealings of course.

"Why are you worried about what happens to a stranger? Do you not think you have more important things to think about? Or, have you forgotten the pile of cow dung you step in a few days ago? It's just healer types to be worried other lives more than your own. You are lucky the Queen and her adviser are on a diplomatic retreat, and most likely haven't heard of this incident. You know the rules as well as I do. So take the calming before the storm and relax Sister" Kar said in a humorous manner while chuckling.

Before continuing Kar thought for a moment and sighed "You know I also dislike the intensity of the law. However it has keep Nile cities from Underworld at bay. Making our city safer about sixty percent safer than the Great Imperial city of Asher." "Of course, that is only because the Asher Officials cannot suppress their Underworld, because the Underworld has powers almost equal to Asher's Imperial city." Adah interrupted. "That's beside the point. Even if they did, we would still have the city have the safest city in all of Sun-Kissed Country. Now where was I? Oh that's right, the laws are indeed a bit intense but they work. Our city only has low commoner fatality rate in all the developed nations' cities and that is partially due to the illegal citizen slave act. But enough about that does this guy give you this strange feeling that he's about to teleport has teleported recently? That's strange, the spatial magic doesn't seem to belong his Mana signature."

"So you've noticed it too? The spatial energy was more abundant before he was moved into the healing cave. It's as if he was he was summoned hear from a great distance or even another dimension or something. I wond…" Sister Adah said before interrupted by Kar

"Is that why you were as curious as to what would happen to him? If you're right than the only people with that type of power would be the Queen and The Council." Kar added. 'Hm, but why would they summon him? Could it be a hero summoning of old? If so what would be so threatening that they had to summon a hero from another plain?' Seeing Kar get lost in his thoughts Sister Adah forgot was she was trying say and started to the unknown person.

…In the Temple of Life…

"What's going on Albert, how come it didn't work? Is it possible you missed something during the summons" asked Big John sneered confusedly.

"It should have worked; the Royal leaders have been using this spell for eons. I've watched this spell be performed twice during my time at the kingdom, as an elite mage. Master Bait, my mentor at the time, preformed the spell with four Legends and two elites, with me being one of the elites. I've taken all of the precautions and followed all the procedures. Someone or some outside force either interfered with the hero summoning, or…."

Before Alfred could continue Elder Bernard cut in to say. "Is it possible that the hero himself fought against the spell? It's entirely impossible for Legend grade Mages to forget any spells; lecture teachings are imprinted in my sea of conscious1, even if ones sea of consciousness was damaged. The information would still be there once it was recovered. A great example would be bleeding, your blood carries large amount of information. One wouldn't lose the information from bleeding, nor does the information get damaged in anyway. In short only in death would the information stored be tainted. All Legends should have this basic knowledge, or is that your head is to far up Nandi's ass that you memory became shit." Elder Bernard replied with a scolding tone. Elder Bernard never addressed his sister by her title. Even though he was an illegitimate child of the pervious King Anubis, the two were inseparable; from child, to adult hood, and even after her crowning. Despite what many believed that the reason he didn't address her title was because he didn't recognize has Queen. However the opposite was true, Elder Bernard never sought the crown or any political power for that matter. If he wasn't so close to his sister and wanted to help her live out her dreams he would rather wonder of an adventure or travel.

Big John burst with fiery and responded "Bernard you think that just because you're the Queen Nandi's brother, you can get away with saying anything you want! Just you wait and see how I will be become the number 1 legend of the kingdom during the upcoming tournament of power! Besides I quite like it up there!" Despite their constant pickings the two had a rather close relationship. Those that know the two will would tell you that they were best of friends, so no one took it serious anytime the two got into it. They were bound be this way Big John is a pure Earth Warrior type while Elder Bernard is a pure Water Mage. They were natural enemies by both type and class.

Despite the word exchanges the atmosphere was rather calm. They pondered about what they should do. The hero summons had a 100 year cool down, making it impossible to perform it again. As the Legends sat at the round table eating and replenishing there magic reserves, while as enjoying a good show with Elder Bernard and Big John; the Queen was gazing at a spot high in the sky high above the summoning alter.

"Queen Nandi what is it, your usually trying to break the two bickering?" Alfred asked drawing the attention of the entire table.

Queen Nandi thought for moment before asking "Did any of you feel that large burst of dark magic? It happened for just a brief second before the spell failed. From what I could tell it came from inside the array sphere and not sure what to make of it."

The table went silent for a few moments while the mages searched their sea of conscious. After they all confirmed the incident, the queen and her council prepared to teleport back to the city to view the reports of any strange activities before heading back to the castle.
