"QI YUAN JIAN!" Ouht screamed with all he had.
"Talk to the principal," Qi Yuan Jian picked Li and hoisted him on his shoulder before bolting out of the scene.
Flav, Dumdum, and Iris stared at what happened with dumbstruck looks. What just happened? Did Li die? Did he get kidnapped? Did the vice principal really let it happen?
A heavy sigh escaped Ouht's mouth and he shook his head looking at where the two disappeared. "This guy is up to no good again. How is he a teacher for heaven's sake?" He muttered to himself.
"Vice-vice principal who was that?" Flav asked, regaining his bearing.
Ouht hummed annoyed. "Him? He's the only teacher who isn't in the fifth realm of power. He is the genius swordsman Qi Yuan Jian." Ouht revealed with a shrug.
"Why did you let him kidnap the human?"
Ouht looked at Dumdum deeply for a few seconds and sighed again. "It's not that I let him do it, as you saw he has the Principal's backing. Also, he wouldn't do anything to Xuan Li… probably," he said the last part unsure.
"He's very strong," Iris commented and glanced at the direction the two disappeared.
"Anyway, we should be on our way. The Principal is waiting, we can ask him what he wants from Li then."
Like that, Ouht and the others continued their journey with Flav and Iris doubting if they would be safe after what happened to Li.
It didn't take more than 30 minutes to arrive in front of a building, it was painted in a goldish black color and gave off a weird aura. Ouht entered the building lazily and moved to the third level through the stairs. He stopped in front of a door that had a plate with 'Principal's Office' written in the same calligraphy as the Academy's gate.
Ouht didn't knock on the door and entered immediately in an irritated manner. "What are you planning Daemon!" He demanded looking at the black haired late twenty looking man.
"Is that how you are supposed to talk to your superior Ouht?" Daemon rubbed his nose and removed his glasses with one move. He looked at Ouht tiredly and as if he was used to this.
"Cut the crap Daemon. What are you doing letting Qi Yuan do whatever he wants? Since when do we kidnap our students! Who knows if he is even alive after that slash!"
Ouht didn't let it off, his anger rising by the second and a vein popped out on his forehead. Daemon looked back at those creepy white eyes evenly, not intimidated in the slightest.
"Are you done venting?" He asked, crossing his hands on his chest.
"Yes I am."
"Good, then," he looked past Ouht and stared at the three guests. "You must be Flav, Iris, and… Dumdum." Daemons held a laugh but his smirk showed as he uttered the name getting an ired look from the latter. "Welcome to the Ascension Academy. I am sure you have heard this sentence many times but it's different when it comes from me," Daemon smirked again. "After all, I am the Principal."
Flav and Iris found it difficult to comprehend what's happening. Is this really the Principal of the famous Ascension Academy? He's so egotistical! He's nothing like they imagined making them rub their eyes twice to make sure they weren't dreaming.
"Thank you?"
Flav didn't know how to react, he awkwardly rubbed his neck and replied.
"What about the human? Ouht already asked." Dumdum didn't react his usual careful self and showed his direct hostility to Daemon.
Clap.
"You are honest. I like it," Daemon said with a smirk still not giving an answer.
"Give up kids," Ouht said raising his hand, he side-eyed looked at Daemon as if he could see him and turned to them, "when he's like this you should know: you won't get an answer. Knowing him he will just change the subject over and over until we give up."
"Oh you know me so well Ouht but you don't have to say it in such a hurtful way."
Daemon wiped his smile and looked at the three, his black orbs shined for a second before he nodded. "As expected," he muttered and rubbed his chin in thought.
"You," he pointed at Flav, "Why is a killer attending my Academy?" Flav's face blanched at his words but Daemon ignored him. "And you, I am sure there is a reason you came to this academy. What is it?" He asked Iris in utmost seriousness.
Iris calmly looked back into his eyes, but before she could say anything, "why do you want to know?"
It was Ouht that asked and his eyes were fierce even though blind.
"Do you intend to protect her without knowing if she's a danger to us?" Daemon evenly stared back. His eyes weren't playful anymore but more serious befitting his position.
"I know what she wants and it won't do anything to us," Ouht glanced at the surprised Iris and nodded.
"I want some materials," she vaguely answered.
Iris felt the difference in power between them and knew that Daemon could easily kill her.
"I see," unknown why Daemon accepted her answer and shifted his gaze to the last of the three.
"Your noble blood is stained Dum~dum. To think the last of your race would have such a name. Tell me the truth, why did you come here? I am sure it wasn't just because of that regenerative kid."
Daemon's questions and knowledge regarding them surprised both Flav and Iris but they saw how Dumdum and Ouht weren't. Did they know? Considering Ouht's position he would have known but how did Dumdum know?
"It's none of your business, human!"
"Why so aggressive? Is it because you are injured? Because your cultivation deteriorated? Or because you ended up in such a… cute form?"
Daemon's taunts hit spot-on. Everything he said was to let them know that whatever they hid it didn't work on him and solidify his position as a respectable and feared person in their eyes.
"Are you done now?"
Ouht had enough of this. If he wanted to he would have stopped Daemon earlier but he didn't. After all, he was the vice-principal and he couldn't cross the Principal much.
Daemon relaxed his smile and with it the serious atmosphere dispersed. "Yes," he answered, reclining back on his chair.
"Now for the reason you are here…"
He stopped and waited till they calmed down which didn't take long making him nod in approval.
"I have a mission for you."
He saw the confused stares they gave him and he only smirked in response, his smirk felt menacing in their eyes.
"Don't worry if you complete the mission the reward will be 1000 Ascension points each," he said as if it was a big deal.
