Iris walked back to her room before lying down on the bed. She was tired, and the noises had finally calmed down.
Before she could close her eyes again to rest, the door suddenly opened before, and an old man and a woman carrying an infant in her arms entered inside. Iris recognized them to be the physician and the mother-child pair who she had just met outside.
When she shifted her gaze to the baby in the woman's arms, she noticed that he did not look so pale anymore. Instead, he was sleeping peacefully in his mother's embrace.
"I see that it worked, and the baby is all fine even though poisons can only kill," Iris mocked the physician.
Physician Xu was embarrassed since the girl who looked around his granddaughter's age proved to be more knowledgeable than him. He had studied medicine all his life, but he could only rely on his own experience due to the lack of resources. The thought of using poison to cure someone had never even crossed his mind.
At the same time, he was also delighted that he learned something new. Moreover, they had saved the child, and he was grateful for that help.
He let out a cough.
"I was just here to express my thanks, Miss. If not for you, I might have never changed my thinking that poisons can only kill," Physician Xu expressed his gratitude before bowing his head a little.
Iris was a little surprised since she did not expect the physician to accept his errors so easily, especially since how he had reacted just a moment ago when she had suggested the use of poison.
"Hm. It's alright," saying that, Iris was about to lay back down, but she forgot about the mother of that child.
That woman cried while expressing her gratitude towards Iris, but the latter just wanted to have some rest now.
In the end, the woman even went as far as to invite Iris to live in her home if she did not have any place to stay. It seemed that she had learned from the physician that Iris was found unconscious near the town's entrance.
"Pardon me, but I will not bother you." Iris declined her offer. She had more important things to do than stay in some random woman's house.
Iris sighed in relief when the woman had finally left the room. Just as Physician Xu was about to leave as well, Iris suddenly remembered something and said, "Wait! Can I stay in this room for a little longer?"
"Ah, of course! If you still need some rest, you can stay here." Physician Xu replied with a smile on his face.
"About the payment-"
"Haha… You don't need to pay, Miss. Leave it to me, and I will deal with that." Physician Xu laughed heartily before he exited the room.
He was overjoyed today after learning the lesson that poisons are not all harmful. Only the way to use them would determine their effect.
Only after she was alone in her room did Iris laid back on the bed, gazing at the white ceiling above her. She did not notice, but her eyes slowly closed before she drifted into sleep.

It only took Iris a little over an hour to wake up. No matter how tired she was, she just couldn't rest easy in an unfamiliar place.
"I should find out more about this place," Iris muttered to herself before she got off the bed and walked out of the room.
'The memories might be blurry, but I do remember that this body belonged to the daughter of some minister of a country. So, what was she even doing near this small town?' Iris pondered as she walked down the hallway.
'And I don't even remember who killed her.' No matter how hard she tried, she just could not remember how this girl had gotten herself killed.
This situation was problematic since she would also need to be careful because her killer could be anywhere. And once the killer knows that she is alive, they could come after her again. And she was not in a state to protect herself at all.
'Unfortunately, this girl's family is also dead.' Iris thought to herself. It meant that there was probably no one who she could trust that would help her either.
'But even if she did have her family, I wouldn't want to meet them since I am not her, and I have my own matters to take care of.' It would have been quite awkward for her to pretend to be someone that she wasn't.
With quick steps, Iris walked out of the building. She tried her best not to encounter the Physician. If she did, that man would have probably kept asking her questions. Fortunately for her, Physician Xu was nowhere to be seen.
After the rest, her complexion had improved as well. She did not look so worn out now. Walking on the street, Iris suddenly realised that she did not know anything about this town except for the name.
"Hah, I should have just asked that physician," Iris muttered to herself, but she had already left the building. Turning back now would just be a bother, so she looked around and saw two old women talking on the street side.
She was just about to talk to them, but some young men hurriedly ran by them at this moment.
"Hey, snub! Hurry up! I heard the guy is still in the town square!"
"What are we running there for again?"
"Tch! We just discussed it. Where is your mind!? There is a man who wants to be killed and is offering rewards for that!"
"Tsk! Tsk! And I thought I wouldn't be able to meet a bigger idiot than Jean here."

Hearing their conversation, many of the people on the street were also intrigued, and this also included the two old ladies whom Iris was going to talk to. The curious people also followed the young men since the town square wasn't that far.
Under a few seconds, Iris could practically hear crickets on the street. Since everyone had gone to see the show of a man wanting himself to be killed, Iris couldn't help but follow behind them.
