Chapter 1 - Debut

8Entertainment

"Dal Won you did well today" The CEO of 8Entertainment stated. All the other trainees in the room clapped, "Thank you" Dal Won bowed with a straight face.

"Sure she's talented but with that personality of her, she won't make it in the industry" a trainee whispered to the other trainee next to her.

The CEO cleared her throat "This will be the last monthly evaluation for you, Dal Won, we will now start working with your debut, all the other trainees can go back to your training room"

"I kinda knew she was going to debut, but I didn't know it would be this soon, I mean, after all, she is the trainee with the least training period here" Ara uttered. "She's good, but Minji has been here longer" another trainee stated.

"People has their own timing" Minji glared at Dal won. "After all not everyone can survive in this industry" she whispered, before following the rest of the trainees outside.

"Dal Won ah" how are you doing in acting class these days?" the CEO questioned. "The teacher said I'm doing good" she answered.

"From now on, when you're on stage, you're no longer Dal Won, You're KUU that's your stage name, that's the persona. You're not the expressionless Dal Won, you're KUU, the happy-go-lucky and joyful KUU, work on your acting and you're good to go" she paused "I want the song that you compose to be your debut single, you have creative control over your work and I won't interfered, because you're the creation I made and you're my-"

"Cash cow" Dal Won cut her off. "It's good that you know" the CEO snarled.

"You're nominated for first place today, it's only been 5 days since your debut, that's incredible for a solo artist" her manager, Cho Hee exclaimed. "Numbers aren't everything" she retorted.

"Whatever, when you're done with your makeup and hairstyle, go and hand out your signed album, you're the hoobae"

"Do I have to?" Dal Won sighed in her seat. "You have to, it's called respect and you have to build up your image" Cho Hee growled. "It's part of the job, Dal Won ah" her personal makeup artist, Jimin sprayed the setting spray "and you're done!"

Dal Won sat up on her seat, she walked up to the door, "Alright!" KUU said cheerfully, holding the door handle. "The acting class does pay off" her manager sighed. "I can never get used to it" Jimin shook her head.

The hallway of the waiting room of 'Music Station' is as busy as usual, makeup artists, stylists, and managers running around with their hands full.

"Hello" KUU greeted everyone with a bowed as she strolled through the hallway. Some were busied too to greet her back, some gave her a nod and some greeted her back.

"You're doing good" Cho Hee whispered to her ear. "You said it's part of the job" KUU whispered under her breath, the remark made Cho Hee rolled her eyes. They stopped in front of the door with a sign that said "Artist: Kay"

KUU knocked on the door, "Come in" a guy voice can be heard behind the door. KUU tried to open the door but was abruptly stopped by Cho Hee "Wait a minute, I'm not ready" "Huh why?" KUU frowned. "This is the biggest artist at the moment and you don't want me to freak out" Cho Hee hissed. "Oh, and you don't want to meet him?" KUU raised her left eyebrow and release the door handle, "No no, let's go in, I'm ready" Cho Hee replied.

KUU sighed, opening the door, her displeased face was soon replaced with a cheerful expression as soon as the door open, revealing Kay, sitting down on a sofa, holding a phone in one hand.

"Annyeonghaseyo sunbaenim" KUU greeted him with bowed, her manager followed after. He raised his head up from the tiny screen in his hand and faced toward the voice, he smiled and gave her a nod, "I've seen your work, congratulation on your debut, KUU"

"Thank you" KUU replied, holding out the signed album with both hands, "Please take care of me" she exclaimed.

Kay took the CD with a smile, "I will see you around, my hoobae" "Actually my manager is a fan of yours" KUU remark made her manager jumped in surprise. "Ye-yes, I'm s-so glad to meet you" Cho Hee stuttered. "Thank you for supporting me" Kay turned to grab his CD and took out a pen to signed it and gave it to Cho Hee.

"You don't have to do this much" Cho Hee panicked, "Thank you" KUU smiled at him. "Yes thank you" Cho Hee repeated after her.

"I will get going now, sunbae" KUU turned her heel and walked out of the room with her manager after her.

"She's a good kid," Kay's manager said after the door closed. "A beautiful one too" Kay added. "You're not interested in a rookie are you?" his manager frowned. "I was just complimenting her okay?" Kay sighed, shaking his head. "You better not, I've dealt with too many of your scandals this month"

Dating is prohibited in the industry, especially for a rookie. A big artist like Kay, with a big and stable fandom, can still get backlashes for dating, what more for a rookie. KUU knows that and she isn't interested in dating either. She's only interested in her career, she got no time for dating, especially with the 'angelic' image she has to work on.
