Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 1: Outside People

LIFE is a challenge, indeed. You have to struggle so many things before feeling the peace. And we all have no choice but to fight for ourselves. But sometimes, other's lives was unworthy so they'll just pass it and trust it to others.

But in Serrah's case, whether she likes it or not, she have to... because if she will not fight, she'll die. Death is nothing without fighting so she will do the battle.

Her nose cringed when someone hit her door. "Serrah! Move your ass off there, you stupid girl. Clean the house, now!" she heard her step-mother hiss.

Before opening her eyes, she did a long and heavy sigh. 'I'm used to this but why does it hurt as always?' she thought. Her mother died when she did laboured Serrah so the poor girl didn't had a chance to atleast glance on her mother.

She moved. Stood up and jump to be awaken. Serrah moved after taking a bath, it's a saturday so no classes. And as her step-mother said, she did clean the house, more like an almost-haunted house; because she was just the one who do the cleaning. His father was somewhere that she couldn't contact him, plus she can't hold a phone if she doesn't want to have a bruise from her step-mother.

"Wooh!" she exclaimed as she threw herself at their sofa. She feels relax and sleepy when her back touches the soft and fluffy sofa. She just done cleaning, thankful that her step-mother and step-brother are away, Serrah took her bath again and brought her books to the nearest café in their subdivision.

Wearing her usual big and circled eyeglasses, Serrah entered the café quietly so that she wouldn't notice by someone. But as her day is her luck, someone just did.

"Serrah the monster, wazzup!" and then followed by a chuckle. The man was named Allendar Chen, one of her bully classmates. But as the used lady, she ignored the man.

She fixed her hair by her long and pretty fingers and pushed it to the back. Serrah sat on the couch where she is alone and unnoticeable. She didn't want to be noticed by them, all of them. Because she was just receiving different insults, mocks from them so as long as she can stay away, she'll do for the serene scenes.

The waiter came to her and asked for her needs. She says one vanilla latte and cookies & nuts, enough to do the rest of her rest. Reading and sitting in here is her rest, not until Allendar will mess it. But she was hopeful not to, as always.

She started reading quietly when the bully came to her, again.

"Serrah the monster!" he yelled which made the people eyed him but the bully didn't notice it.

She sighed and continues as if she can't hear anything. But then the Allendar was sooooo hard-headed.

"How's your day, Serrah?" though Serrah wasn't looking at him, she felt him smirking like an idiot. And again, she just continue. "My day looks like your face... ruined!" and then she heard him roared a laugh.

Oh how childish he is. Serrah was very near to slam the book on his face, really.

"Hey! The most prettiest man is here!" he waved her hand in front of her face, so she did slapped it because she can't read the texts. The bully hugged himself like he was harrased, "You're so bad, Serrah! You should thank me for not being physically happy on you, huh!" and with that, she slammed the book on his face and glared at him. Shocked and amazement was evident on his irritating face.

Okay, she must admit. Allendar was one of the cutest guy on their school plus his status being an heir BUT that doesn't change anything for Serrah. Like duh! He's irritating and so good to hit. And like the bully said, she was making his day ruined. Well, same here! He's ruined as d*mn.

"Physically what?! Come again!" she hissed, controlling herself from anger. She felt her cheek blushed with that words.

Allendar grinned. "What? Don't be dirty-minded, you ugly girl. What's that freaking book, anyway?" he then asked it again.

She again slapped him by the book and point a finger on him. "Don't you dare call my book a freak! You bully!" she said in a fighting tone.

His eyes widened. "You mad 'coz I called your book a freak!? You're weird, dude." he said, chuckling. She did it again, hit him. "Ouch! You're harrassing me, Serrah! Everyone, this ugly girl is harrassing me! HELP! HELP!" he even called everyone's attention which made her feel embarrassed.

She held his freaking hand and force him to sit. "Shut up! You nosy guy!" she whispered, preventing the anger in her.

He finally sat and faced her. "Me? Nosy? I'm so handsome, you know." he even did a handsome pose.

She let out a heavy sigh in frustration. She looks so stress and babysitting an abnormal.

"Your face is like this wall! So thick," she said and continued reading.

He looks hurt for that. He even held his chest like so hard to breath and puppy-eyed her. Oh well, puppy-eye looks good on him, 'coz he is a certified dog.

"You're hurting me, babe!"

"Don't babe me, thick!"

"Focus your attention on me!"

She glared at him and fixed her eyeglasses. "You are not worth my attention," she humorless said.

"Ouch, that hurts!" he is definitely teasing her.

Allendar continues teasing her and just like the usual, she's ignoring him even she was stopping herself from kicking him.

After so many years of miracle, Allendar finally shut his mouth and Serrah was thankful for that. Allendar walked away and said he will buy something but who cares. She just focused and enjoyed on her reading session until someones coming to her way.

Oh how she was hating this kind of scene.

"Serrah, Serrah, Serrah... how are you, dear?" she glanced at them and saw Gracia, Teresita, and Herouisha rasing their brows at her.

'What do I do this time?' she thought. This is why she hate being with someone, so many talks. She prefer talking to her books than these kind of people.

"What?" she asked.

Teresita laugh in a sarcastic one. "Oh nothing, dear... your face just soooo irritating as f*ck!" her cuss was very crunchy.

'If my face irritates you, why talking to me?' she wants to voice these out but she's weak enough to answer them like that.

"Not because Allendar sit with you, that doesn't mean he likes you! You're ugly, bitch!" Herouisha said.

She then looked at them in a bored look. "I don't care if he sat there. I don't even care if he dance in my lap, seriously. You girls stop thinking that way on me, I don't like him, at all." she answered.

Gracia pushed her a bit. "You're so full of yourself! You shouldn't go out in your house with that face! No one wants to talk nor be with you," she said.

Serrah was not hurt, really. She's used hearing those words so her expression did not even change.

"Prove your words, don't talk and come near me." she stood up and get her books and turn her back on them. Serrah was about to walk away when Gracia suddenly slapped her to the point that she even felt her neck turned 360 degrees.

"You're not just ugly, you're disrespectful too! Don't turn your back on the queens," she yelled at her.

She felt eyes watching on them. And she was not liking it, she wants to run away but she knows that these three wouldn't let her.

"Stay away from Allendar, a'right? When I say stay away, do not come near him and do not plan on talking to him! You disgusting flirt!" she slapped her again which made her eyeglasses lost.

Her eyes began on wondering her surroundings. She may not see clearly but she can see them blurry.

She starts touch anything for her to be guided and wonders her eyeglasses. Why does she have to have this blur eye sight? She hates it! Argh!

She knelt and continue finding her glasses while the three continue attacking her physically.

"You ugly blind!"

"So assuming!"

"No one will ever hit their head for you----" they became quiet because of something so she grab that opportunity to find her eyeglass immediately.

Serrah closed her eyes because her head was spinning with her eyesight. When someone held her and wear back her eyeglasses.

She looked at it and found that it was Allendar who has now a worried look. She saw him scanning her from head to toe.

She stared at him doing that with an "o" mouth. Then Allendar clenched his jaw when he noticed the bruise on her knee. He glanced at the girls who were watching them.

The three looked shocked and terrified when they saw Allendar.

"What did you do this time?" his cold voice was giving everyone a shiver.

Serrah looked down so that no one could see her teary eye. She simply wipe it. She was so tired of this. Tho she was thankful that the three were the only doing this physical hurt to her, still having them bullying her and Allendar verbally hurting her. She sometimes feel like dying,

"Allendar! She's obviously flirting you, she's a leech!" said by Teresita followed by the two approving.

Allendar gazed at me then went back at them, clenching his jaw. "I'm the one approached her. So where's the problem?" he asked.

I closed my eyes firmly. Damn this man! He was just making the situation harder! After this, I promise I would hit him on his butt.

"But Allendar!" Gracia groaned.

"She's taking advantage of you!" Herouisha added.

He laughed drily. "Of me? She's not doing anything, girls. I know I am handsome, but relax..." it seems like a joke but the way he said it, she don't think it is. "I'll let it pass this time, no one could bully her but me. Understand? Now, get out! Out!" his shout.

The three ran away when his cold shout filled the café. I heaved a sigh,

"You okay?" he asked after it.

I sighed and get my book, ignoring him, and got out of the place. He ran to me and held my hand that I immediately shove away.

"Serrah!" he called me. And in frustration, I stopped running and faced him.

"You know what? I am tired of this. You must stay away from me," I casually said eventhough I felt my bruises.

"What are you talking about?" he tried to reach my shoulder but I pushed him.

I gritted my teeth. "I want a peaceful life, Allendar! And that will happen if you stay away from me. Just, stay away!" and ran away again.

I hate running from this life! I hate everything!
