Karl Kenwise was more a man of action than words.
He was a petty bald headed man with power in his hand. He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth like the other friends of his who were carrying on their father's legacy.
He had done it all with his own sweat and blood.
He was a man hard to get.
Karl Kenwise kept glancing at his watch desperate to meet his daughter. He looked at the photo frame kept on his table. In it was a photo of his with Cara. That photo was taken ages ago when they had gone for a mountain trip to Mount Rushmore. He smiled.
The whole memory of the trip came rushing to his mind. Time passes so soon from a happy family they became rivals, one refusing to see others face.
His train of thoughts were interrupted by his secretary Edmond Richard.
"sir, there is someone to meet you, she claims to be your daughter."
"claiming?? thats so much like Cara,"
karl laughed and replied,
"Richard let her in."
Karl was rather excited to meet Cara. The doors of his cabin opened and their came his daughter Cara. She had grown a lot. She looked more mature than her years. It wasn't that Karl had left his daughter on road to starve. He had always taken care of his daughter but from a distance.
It was because of him that cara had got a part time job. He had always loved his daughter. He wasn't a man for stone as heart.
Cara walked in with regal style and slumped into the chair.
"So tell me what happened," Cara asked.
"Calm down dear, we have just met won't you want to talk about your life, how you are doing everything like families do?"
Family??!! family??!! this is what you have to say after you threw your own blood on the streets and didn't even care once to check upon her if she is dead or alive?
" I thought it would be a happy meeting but fates have something else on their mind," Karl sighed.
"Tell me what was all that rubbish you were speaking in that video"
"Cara, it was no rubbish. I want to tell you something that I wanted to tell you for years. I want to tell you the reason for my actions. Why I did what I did to you. I want to tell you that I am not your father".
"Oh yes! of course! as if I didnt know. Hey everyone see Karl Kenwise is saying something let's all clap for him", Cara mocked clapping her hands together.
"You knew??!!" karl was shocked to hear this coming from Cara.
"Of course how can a father throw his daughter on the streets" cara said.
Karl got angry.
"It's not a joke. You are here so that I can discuss some serious things with you".
"Oh yes, its so damn serious, a man telling his own daughter whom he had thrown out of his house that he is not her father. It's not a joke certainly".
"Cara, why don't you understand I was forced to do so. Circumstances made me do so. Are you even having the faintest of idea of my sacrifices?"
"Sacrifices? what sacrifices?"
Cara jumped from her seat and banged her hand on the table, she walked angrily up to karl's chair and looking him into his eyes said "stop talking rubbish. My time is precious. I don't have a lavish lifestyle like yours."
Karl didn't reply. His eyes turned red. He started sweating. He moved both his hands to his chest. He chocked for air.
Cara got horrified. She screamed "father!!"
Karl chocked and said "you can never understand the worth of my sacrifices" and then his body went limp.
Cara shook him. She screamed for help.
What happened after that was something that cara had not imagined even in her wildest of dreams.
Four men and two women came in rushing, armed. The women took hold of Cara and held her back from the body. Cara was crying. Two of the men went near Karl's body checking his pulse. They shook their heads. The other two men pointed their guns at Cara and said "you are under arrest".
