Chapter 44 - Assassination (2)

"All of you! Charge and kill him immediately! If we leave him alive, we might not know when he will come back in the future to take revenge on us!" The leader of the group hollered, with a hint of fear in his eyes.

To be at the Elementary Realm at such an age could no longer be plainly called a genius. This was an absolute monster that even if they were given a hundred thousand guts, they would never ever dare to provoke.

But since they had already shown their ill-intentions, it was either they kill him, or wait for him to kill them in the future.

And they value their life a lot.

The rest of the group glanced at each other and nodded their heads in agreement. Then, as they warily stared at Long Chen, they began to move.

These group of people were evidently experienced killers who work in a team, as they all approached Long Chen in different directions.

If it was a normal person alone, they would be scared to death by the mere killing intent radiating from their bodies.

But how could Long Chen be afraid of such a thing, after he has engaged in a one sided slaughter before?

Gripping his sword, his ears perked up as he rolled to the side, avoiding the first sword strike towards his shoulder.

He retreated a few steps to dodge from the two other swords that slashed towards his left and right abdomen, performing a movement as though he was flying back.

"Since you want to kill me, then don't blame me for being merciless then." Long Chen softly muttered in a voice only he could hear, and he began to attack.

He unleashed two slashes towards his left and right, and the swift and powerful sword ray instantly moved towards their bodies.

The two people hurriedly raise their swords to weaken this attack that seemed that they had barely captured within their eyes, accumulating their Elemental Qi to create a protective shield around their body.

The two sword rays first collided with the sword, and under their narrowed eyes, the sword ray pierced through their swords as though they were like tofu, and continued its dominating path towards their bodies.

Their expressions abruptly froze, and then they looked down towards their body, their eyes shining with disbelief, as a red gaping line started to appear.

Their visions blackened, and they both fell onto the ground.

The leader's pupils constricted as he saw this scene, as he yelled out, "This sword skill! What is this? How could it possibly have so much power?"

And when he saw Long Chen moving towards him, he shouted, "Quickly! Don't give him a single chance to attack!"

The leader himself felt rather confident of his 5th Elementary Realm cultivation, but that two sword rays alone gave him a sense of danger.

He could instinctively feel that under this sword rays, he would not last for long either.

The group of 3 began to furiously strike out slash after slash at Long Chen, with the leader's obviously being the strongest.

Each time, Long Chen merely moved his sword a few times, causing their normally powerful attacks to dissipate into thin air.

On the other hand, his sword attacks directly pierced through their bodies, leaving them with injury after injury.

As the fight went on, the group became more and more panicked, and they never felt death loom over them as much as today.

Long Chen's sword cut into the air yet again, and like a flash of lightning, it appeared within a member of the group's body.

That person who had been hit was raising his sword for yet another attack, when he felt a burst of pain that enveloped his entire body, and then he fell powerless onto the ground.

The two remaining people fastened their attacks as they saw this.

However, no matter how much they tried, they could never land an attack on Long Chen. It was as though he himself was impenetrable.

A few minutes passed.

Another person fell died onto the ground.

There was only one person left. The leader of the group. His eyes no longer held that contempt, but rather, horror and fear.

His fingers could not help but tremble when he gazed around him and saw the dead bodies just lying about.

And the person who had done it, was this youth in front of him. His face was calm and serene, seemingly unperturbed by the killings he had done.

The leader's hair stood on end from tip to toe, as he cursed himself for provoking such a demon.

If he had known that his young master's target was as such, he would never ever take up this mission.

"It looks like you are the last one left. So, do you want to tell me who sent you here?" Long Chen gazed at the leader as he spoke in a clear voice.

Seeing that the leader still kept silent, Long Chen walked step by step towards the leader, slowly and casually, as if he was taking a stroll in the park.

"If you don't want to say, then there is no need for you to live anymore."

The leader was involuntarily shivering as he saw Long Chen inch closer, and closer to him. With every step that he took, he could feel that death was getting closer to him.

The look on his eyes, the expression he adopted, his slow steps, all of them crushed his mind with immense pressure.

He had killed so many people before. Never once did he think about the lives about those that he had killed.

Now, only now, did he realize, how terrifying the concept of death was to him.

His body was now riddled with injuries, his blood unrestrainedly gushing out in huge amounts, painting his entire body fresh red.

His current appearance was nothing short of miserable.

He no longer had the strength to fight.

He thoroughly regretted his actions. This youth in front of him, was someone with never before seen talent, he was also stronger than him at his current age.

He no longer had the strength to resist.

"I'll tell you! As long as you don't kill me, I will tell you!" The leader hurriedly yelled out in a hoarse voice, his tone pull of panic and fear.

"Oh? As long as you tell me who, then I shall do as you say." Long Chen lightly smiled in response.

"It is…Young Master Chen! Chen Yu Yang from the Chen Family. The genius disciple of the Moonlight Sect!" The leader quickly replied as he stumbled backwards to retreat from Long Chen.

Long Chen raised his eyebrows in curiosity when he heard his words.

Chen Yu Yang? From one of the 4 Great Families.

He didn't know him at all.

Why would he send people to kill him?

'A genius disciple of the Moonlight Sect? No wonder.' Long Chen abruptly realized.

The talent that he had portrayed was bound to threaten many genius disciple's existences, and there was bound to be a few that won't want him to stay alive in this world.

"Thank you."

Long Chen then swiftly moved his arm, as his sword pierced into the neck of the leader, instantly killing him.

The leader still had his eyes wide open in shock, not understanding why Long Chen had killed him after he had already revealed the information that he wanted to know.

'I'm sorry. But if I let you go, won't it be my demise in the future? How could I possibly let someone who wants to claim my life, run away from me?' Long Chen glanced down at the leader's dead body as he mumbled to himself.
