Chapter 4 - HELL MOUNTAIN

A week later.

Golden Valley Sect.

Azure Dragon City.

As the sun slowly rose up from the sky, a pair that consists of a young and old man was currently travelling through a thick forest.

The forest has huge trees almost blocking the sunlight making it dark inside even though it's the middle of the day. The whole forest was deathly silent, only hearing the crunch of leaves who was stepped bt a pair of footsteps.

The duo was currently Seijou and his master who was currently heading to Hell Mountain which was famous for it's unusual high temperature all around the year, gaining it's name.

The one reasons why his master want him to train here was that there are only a few beasts who can either withstand the temperature here or this is their natural habitat.

Within one week, Seijou has changed not only from his temperament and aura but also in his cultivation. He was now at the 7th stage of Awakening realm and was stronger and wiser in terms of combat and his own strength. He has now a huge confidence in his self to train here alone before the tournament begins, which was exactly 1 month and 2 weeks from now.

Seijou told his parents about this particular matter yesterday and was strongly rejected by his mother, while his father was sneakily grinning by her side.

After 2 hours of talking to her mother, Seijou still hasn't managed to let her agree but by showing his cultivation to her. She left the decision to his father who was more than happy to agree.

...

Hell Mountain.

78 kilometers away from the Golden Valley Sect.

Along the way, they got delayed by some low-ranking beasts but was easily dealt by Seijou using his brute strength.

"This is it brat. I will come fetch you a month later." His master said while looking at him. "Take this." He continued while taking out 4 manuals from the air.

Seijou took the manuals and carefully looked at them. Those manuals are called, "Blink, Shadow step, Way of the Dragon and Earth Shattering Fist.

"Thank you master." Seijou gave his thanks as he bowed.

"Now, go." The old man nodded as he said calmly.

"Yes master." Seijou replied as he put the manuals in his backpack and went om his way. Even though the backpack was huge and bulging, he stilla managed to carry it on his back effortlessly.

His bag consists of several tools and kit for survival like a knife, a tent and a jug which can be filled with water. It also has some spare clothes and shoes in which he could change into.

"This is it. This is where my real training starts!" Seijou muttered as he walked away.

Hell Mountain was entirely red. The colore of the tree branches, tree trunks, tree leaves, bushes and other plants on the mountain was red. It really was hell.

After walking for an hour in the mountain, Seijou's shirt was already drenched in sweat. His face was showing signs of exhaustion as he greedily tried to absorb the qi around him to replenish his energy.

He sat on a boulder near a cave and opened up his backpack. He took out the manuals which his master gave to him. Seijou opened the book as curiousity was seen in his eyes.

The first manual was called blink. Blink is a skill in which you can teleport from one distance to another. Blink is an escape skill to avoid any potential danger and can also be used to ambush enemies. The limitations on the skill blink is that you can only appear 50 meters before your previous position which means 50 meters is the maximum range.

"This...this is too overpowered." Seijou widened his eyes in shock as he read the description of the first manual. "I'll be. invincible after I learned how to do this." He thought to himself.

Seijou gradually woke up from his shock as a happy smile broke out on his face. He then opened the second manual which was the Shadow step.

"Shadow step is an agility type skill which boosts your speed. This skill creates afterimages which can let opponents be confused. Shadow step can be only be limited by the cultivatiom of the owner of the skill."

"An agilty type skill huh? I wonder why master gave me this two." Seijou scratched his head as he thought.

After that, he openes the third one which was called the Way of the Dragon.

"The Way of the Dragon is a 3 hit combo skill in which you give a roundhouse kick to your opponent, give them a palm strike and eventually finish them off by kicking them 16 more times. This Way of the Dragon is usually more powerful and greater when combined with an agilty type of skill or teleportation skill."

"I.... this is perfect! Hahhahah! I can pair it up with my blink and shadow steps!" Seijou exclaimed out loud in joy.

Seijou then opened the last manual which was called, Earth Shattering Fist.

"Earth Shattering Fist is a skill that requires a high physical strength. This skill mostly focuses on physical strength and does not rely on s lot of spiritual qi. This skill is suitable for people who have a low cultivation level for it is easy to master."

The only thing was that, they needed to be trained under harsh conditions where you will be hit by lightning, go inside a volcano and swim in magma and let a tornado hit you while cultivating it.

"These manuals.... I've never seen one of these once and yet, my master just casually gave them to me. I feel like it's one of the high-level manuals too. Man! Having a master feels good! Hahahaha!" Seijou laughed once again as he gradually stood up.

The sky was now getting dark. Inside the mountain, it was still hot while a few sizzles can be heard when the sweat from Seijou's face came in contact with the ground.

Seijou took out his tent and prepared it beside the boulder. He then placed it onto the ground and started working on it.

After a while, it was done. Seijou scanned his surroundings and saw no threats nor beasts in the area. After checking it, he went onto his tent as he sat cross-legged and began to cultivate. His first day on training towards the famous Hell Mountain was officially beginning tomorrow.

....

Golden Valley Clan.

Admiral Kurishima was currently walking towards the mountain where Seijou's master lived.

"Sage Douzhang?" The admiral knocked and asked respectfully.

After a while, an old man opened the door with a discerning look in his eyes which gave the admiral goosebumps.

"What brings you here?" Sage Douzhang asked.

"I am here to inform you that there might be a war happening soon between our Golden Valley Sect and Heavenly Sect. We wouldn't bring out more details but the situation might be extremely severe.... So I am here to say that we may be busier in the future and cannot do the demands you will tell us. But it is all in the future. I told you this earlier in fear to ruin your time cultivating. Forgive me Sage." Admiral Kurishima bowed and said in one long breath.

"A war? That's fine.. I won't be here long. Actually, it depends on that kid on how long he will take." Sage Douzhang said in a calm manner.

"Eh? kid?" Admiral looked confusingly at Sage Douzhang.

"Nothing. I understand what you said earlier. Now leave." The old man spoke as he added a mighty manner on his last word.

"Thank you." The admiral said as he turned his back on the old man, gradually appearing more than 100 meters from where he once was.

"He is strong. But his son was the chosen one by the Heavenly Emperor's prophecy." Sage Dozhuang muttered as he looked at the starry sky.

"I wonder how that kid is doing."
